What our customers say about their holidays

    • Mrs Scallan - Verified booking

We had a lovely week in early/mid September and found the cottage very pretty, warm and well equipped. The stairs are a bit of a test for less-than-youthful knees and hips, but once you get used to them, and the wobbly floors that come with a 17th century cottage, it was fine. We were able to use the garden a couple of times, and the walk to the newly re-opened pub (recent change of ownership) a real treat. The villagers were friendly, the food in the pub was excellent, fresh and cooked to order. We found the bus service very useful, good value at £2 per journey and made good use of it - mainly because driving our French left hand drive car through the lanes was a little scary! The only fly in the ointment was that, on arrival we had a little problem and telephoned Original Cottages, but after being kept on hold for nearly 20 minutes with nobody answering, we managed to solve it ourselves. This is no reflection at all on Thatch Cottage, but Original Cottages might want to have more people available to answer the phone at specified arrival times.

This is a very well equipped chalet .

The owners have thought of everything . The property was spotless. The beds comfortable. Certainly much more than we expected of a chalet. The owner sent us a quick text the morning after arrival to check all was well and an email before hand beforehand with comprehensive information. The site is clean and tidy and there is a well stocked Tesco Express within walking distance. The site is just off the main coast road just a few miles from Cromer and ideal for exploring the Norfolk Coast and not too far from the broads. We would certainly recommend this property. Mundesley beach is about half a mile away and has a small selection of the usual seaside shops and amusements and a few places to eat but it is uphill on the way back which was too much for my elderly father but there is a car park at the sea front. This might be a consideration for those set on a beach holiday with young children or elderly relatives who might struggle with the walk , it certainly wouldn’t prevent us visiting again. Thanks for a great holiday.

cannot recommend [sunnybarn ] highly enough! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm hospitality that made us feel right at home. The property itself is an absolute gem—immaculately clean, beautifully decorated, and thoughtfully equipped with everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay. The location is perfect, offering breathtaking views of the countryside, and it's conveniently close to Cromer and nearby attractions. What truly set this accommodation apart was the attention to detail. From the little touches like the complimentary snacks to the incredibly helpful hosts who went above and beyond to ensure we had a fantastic experience, every aspect of our stay was flawless. This is the kind of place you’ll want to come back to time and time again. Whether you’re looking for a romantic getaway, a family retreat, or just some time to unwind, [sunnybarn ] is the perfect choice. Thank you for making our holiday so special—looking forward to our next visit!

The Nook is lovely and cosy, well equipped and has lots of thoughtful little touches with the decor and furnishings. It is spotlessly clean. We took a few mats to help our dog, as we anticipated from the photos that the downstairs of the Nook, has laminate flooring throughout. Unfortunately our dog has long claws because of her breed, and would have struggled to walk purely on the laminate. Locally, Knapton is a quiet village, but there are dog walks locally. Mundlesey has a Tescos express and a decent fish and chip shop attached to the Ship Inn. The beach has dog access on one part of the beach, but our older dog could not manage the steep steps onto the beach sadly. Overall the Nook is lovely. It is a 20 minute journey to Cromer, Wroxham and 30 minutes to Sheringham. North Walsham has supermarkets and a small Roys department store.

The Nook is a really lovely little house, we very much appreciated all the thought & consideration that had gone in to making it a comfortable & charming place to stay. Everything at The Nook is good quality & seems to have been carefully chosen which all adds up to making it feel warm & welcoming. It is clean & well maintained, the kitchen is well equipped - the attention to detail throughout the property & gardens impressed us greatly. We stayed over the Christmas week & it had been beautifully decorated which we hadn't expected. Our stay was very well priced too & we very much enjoyed the generous gift basket . The cottage & location was perfect for our Boxer, Ruby too, with it's secure gardens & fabulous walks from the door. Thanks to Norfolk Cottages for their great service as well. All in all - an A* experience!
