What our customers say about their holidays

    • Spencer - Verified booking

All I can say is that we were not disappointed at all and the recent feedback we read on prior to booking was 100% accurate.

The lodge was superb, very clean and had all we needed, even down to a couple of torches for when walking home in the dark. Kellie and Steve had thought of everything. The information folder was very helpful, especially the local walks, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Being so close to Wimborne made it easy for any food shopping and walking to and from for meals out. The local pub was just a minute away, but with so much choice to do, we only used this a couple of times, and with staff shortages, left us a little disappointed. The other local bar, The Willet Arms was just a 30 minute stroll and the food was great. Now back to the lodge, what an amazing view whilst relaxing in the hot tub, eye level to the field. Was saw so much wildlife, deer on a daily basis, foxes, badgers, pheasants, and of course their own sheep and the cats, one of which at a distance looked like a fox! We even watched a fox stalk a badger. The grounds were beautiful, with the bluebells in bloom and extensive walks around the fields. The fire pits are a great idea, using one on our anniversary, to just sit with an amazing view, fire roaring away, before then cooking our tea, whilst sipping champagne. The swings and even the wonky croquette pitch were also nice additions, and good fun. We were after a get away from it all holiday, just for the week and we were not disappointed. Steve and Kellie, being close by, were able to fix a loss of WiFi within minutes, and with meeting us on our arrival to explain the hot tub, and leaving us a bouquet of roses for our anniversary, showed they really cared for their guests. I can’t recommend this lodge enough. It exceeded our expectations and I would highly recommend this lodge . Thank you Steve and Kellie for a wonderful stay.

Romantic spectacular retreat Secret romantic hideaway, which is situated in a very quiet and secluded location.

Kellie and Steven are excellent hosts, who were both very attentive and welcoming. The property sits away from the road, with acres of land as it’s back garden. Deer lodge is stylishly modern with an homely feel to it; which is very warm and cosy. Lots of light throughout as their are windows in every room, with french doors that leads to your own private patio that has its own hot tub.... We will both miss being in the hot tub under the stars while drinking prosecco, the added robes and slippers that was supplied made it special. We loved the retro record player and vinyls to choose.. There was also board games to choose from, such as monopoly, scrabble, uno etc You do also have a tv in the lounge, with an abundance of shows to select from, as it includes Netflix and amazon prime ... Very well equipped inside with all the needs, such as microwave oven , coffee machine , all the utensils you will need .. toaster , kettle , ironing board and hairdryer. Very comfortable bed in the bedroom, walk in shower in the bathroom. We were also delighted to find some chocolate and cider in the fridge on arrival, even more so the mince pies :) There are also deers on the property, which you will find within the grounds, also outside is a fire pit with seating, and a swing from a tree. We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay, we will be back - maybe in the summer? Dean and Fawne

We loved our stay at Pheasant Lodge and we will come back.

☺️ Kellie and Steve were super nice, a welcome pack waited us on the table with lovely food and Prosecco and a birthday card, as it was my birthday and they remembered. Such a lovely gesture. There is an information folder that contains everything you need to know. This is a magic place, you have a private garden and it takes around 20 minutes to go around the whole place that belongs to the owners, you can use their whole woods and enjoy watching its lovely wild life; a deer, a fox family, rabbits, sheeps, birds, squerrel, etc. so wonderful and peaceful. The hot tub is brilliant, clean, checked everyday by the owners and it's so nice sitting in even when the weather is not the best, you can still enjoy the incredible view from the hot tub. It clearly shows that the owners are working hard to make everything clean and tidy while keeping the original miracle of this place. There is a lovely pub just a few minutes by walk, just recommend booking them in advance. The accommodation is well equiped, we brought a lot of things with us that we didn't need to use in the end. Although the owner's place is near and there is another lodge next to this, you still have your privacy, we enjoyed every minute so much! Thank you Kellie and Steve, see you soon. xx

We said last year following our stay that we would return, and so true to word, and our recommendations to others, we did.

The same week but unfortunately not the same weather. Again faultless. The lodge is so ideally positioned to watch the wildlife right up close, deers, foxes, squirrels, rabbits, oh and the owners 2 Maine-coon cats and 2 sheep. So relaxing to sit in the hot tub watching the wildlife first thing in the morning. Also ideally placed for nearby bars, restaurants and places of interest. Great place to go off on walks in the countryside. The lodge itself is very well equipped. Basically all you need for a great stay. We used the fire pit twice, once to cook our tea( flame grilled steak) and the other to just sit and relax around with a lite bite, playing on the large Jenga and watching the deers wonder around us. (Jenga is a great new addition) I can’t fault in any way. Everything you need, excellent location, peace and quiet, wildlife on your doorstep, wonderful grounds, great owners who will go the extra mile to make your stay perfect. Thank you Kellie and Steve. You never know, we might be back next year. We highly recommend staying here. Thank you for again making our anniversary celebrations memorable.

I would like to give this property 5 stars overall.

The location was lovely. A beautiful woodland was nearby with acres to explore. It had various spots along its pathways with a croquet lawn set up, a tree swing and many other spots to sit and take in the gorgeous scenery. We were lucky enough to have a Fawn come into our lodge garden one evening and we spotted two in the early morning. A treasured memory!!There are also two sheep (mellow and repunzle) in the next field; to whom my Husband liked to go and say hello to each day. The lodge was well equipped and a great base for our week of exploring Dorset. The bed was very comfortable and we slept well. The hot tub was a great treat at the end of each day. There were towels, towelling dressing gowns and hot tub slippers waiting on the bed when we arrived. With a lovely welcome sign and goodies in a basket. All in all, a lovely place to just relax and unwind. Best wishes Louise and Kevin.
