What our customers say about their holidays

    • Jo - Verified booking

The house is generally as described but the two bedrooms are very small and there is insufficient space to unpack and store clothes in each bedroom.

We stayed with 4 children aged 9, 11, 12 and 14. One of the bedrooms was extremely small and not really suitable for two people to share. The main bedroom is lovely with ample space and a comfortable bed. The en-suite is small but perfectly adequate. The main shower room is in need of some updating. The shower door needs a new seal to prevent water leaking out of the shower when in use- this was a major issue for 4 children using the shower as the floor was continuously soaking wet. The kitchen is a good size and has all the necessary facilities other than a tumble dryer which made it difficult to dry towels and swim suits especially with 4 children. The weather didn’t always permit drying outside so a dryer would improve things considerably. The main lounge is lovely although the sofas are small and it is a tight squeeze to sit 6 people all at once. The Tv does not have freeview channels - it is a smart tv so it’s possible to access all the usual apps. The outdoor space is pleasant enough. It is all decked. There is a large table and chairs, a small bbq and a clothes line. It would be a much more comfortable experience if there were cushions for the outdoor chairs as they are very heavy wooden chairs that aren’t particularly comfortable. Also, a couple of sun loungers with cushions would be a good idea to relax properly in the garden. Overall, we had a lovely holiday at Crantock Lodge and would return as the location is fantastic - very close to the village and beach enabling us to walk everywhere.

Crantock Cottage is by far the best place we have stayed at in Cornwall.

It is comfortable, relaxing, very well equipped and finished to a very high standard. We particularly liked the decor in the master suite. Our sons - aged 14 and 22 - loved having double beds to themselves! The outdoor area is just perfect for outdoor dining, being large, private and conveniently located. Our only difficulty was with lack of places close at hand for a quick dog walk without getting into the car, and a lack of pavements in Crantock - both of which were issues for our nervous dogs - but that is not the fault of the cottage itself. We had an issue with the electric hob on our first morning but this was resolved quickly by our being sent a temporary plug-in hob. I believe the owner has a permanent solution in hand. Cranrock itself is exceptionally beautiful, and although busy in high season, it's worlds away from the chaos of nearby Newquay. Dining can be a bit of a problem, so where possible it's advisable to book restaurants well in advance, or turn up early for the Jam Jar pizza restaurant. Make sure you get food in as as back up! Overall, we had a fantastic stay, and we would love to think we will visit again one day.

This was our second time staying at this property and once again it didn't disappoint.

We stayed as a family of 6. 4 adults and two children and then a small dog. The patio area outside is lovely to sit out and secure also with a dog. We were blessed with the weather so were able to sit out most nights. There is a small bbq which is available to use. The kitchen is incredibly well stocked with utensils and pots/pans etc, there are even dog bowls for use. I've seen other reviews commenting on the smaller 2nd bedroom. It is a little tight in there but is plenty big enough for a night's sleep. There is little storage in the two rooms but the master bedroom has a large double wardrobe so we just used that if needing extra storage. The house is in a great position for walking down to the shop/pubs and beach. It is also opposite the village hall, which has a field and small play park for the children and now some fitness equipment also. Overall we have thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to return.

Overall a lovely bungalow, in a fab location close to the local shop, 2 pubs and beach.

Upon arrival we immediately noticed that the property's sofa was different to the one advertised. The sofa had a very low back and was not very comfortable. The lounge would benefit from two big sofas and a chair, the space can certainly take it. If there were 6 people the party the lounge would not sit 6 people comfortably. Couple of issues in the kitchen, the dishwasher door kept falling down (wouldn't stay ajar) and with it taking the plinth with it. A little bit of maintence needed. The kitchen really could of done with a tumble dryer as there is limited space to put a clothes airer. A couple of the windows were very difficult to open. Both beds 2/3 we very small with no wardrobes, just a couple of hooks. All in all a good property that just needs a little bit of maintenance. Would just say it would suit a family with children, rather than like our party 2 couples and a child.

Fabulous historic house that was presented with passion and generosity. The house was immaculately presented and everything you could possibly need for a home for home was provided - and then some. Even down to the information before arrival, guides, information manuals and departure info. Some 5 bed properties lack proportionate living space but Court House really does offer spacious holiday living. Couldn’t be better positioned for Padstow town, with parking just behind the house and the harbour, with its ferry across to the stunning beach at Rock, a hop and skip away. Tall guests might find some of the bedroom doorways a bit challenging - built in C17 and C18 they were a bit shorter back in the day! But once over the threshold the principal bedrooms are spacious and beautiful.
