What our customers say about their holidays

    • Lindsay - Verified booking

Perfect touring base, quiet location, unobtrusive, very hospitable hosts.

From before our holiday began, Jill and the family were the perfect hosts who offer a delightful manner, have time to chat and are keen to help from the very outset to ensure you settle in well from the start of your holiday. Their ten years of experience running the business as a very cohesive team is clearly evident. We spent many relaxing hours sat on the very peaceful, sun drenched terrace and found Cedar Lodge to be furnished to a good standard, it was very clean and well equipped. The washing machine, fridge, clothes dryer and dishwasher looked very new as did the pans, cutlery and crockery. There always was plenty of hot water for showers and washing up etc. The crisp cotton sheets on our comfortable beds gave all our party a restful night and there was more than enough supplies and quality thick clean towel stocks in the laundry store. Having contacted the team beforehand, we arrived expecting only three not four cream teas on arrival os one of our adult party members is Coeliac gluten intolerant. We were delighted to find a fourth Coeliac scone waiting on our arrival, a very thoughtful touch we thought …… and paired with clotted cream and locally made preserve we felt at home straight away ! Our concerns re supporting my Mums limited mobility was easily accommodated as was our request for a zip link adaptation for the second bedroom. Jill was very quick to offer her personal attention in advance to be available when we arrived to help relocate the wardrobe in their bedroom if more room was required….what more could we ask for? Following a locals recommendation, we really enjoyed a meal on our second Tuesday night listening to the “Boscastle Buoys” sea shanty evening at The Napoleon Inn in Boscastle and the Camel Trail Tea room was very enjoyable indeed. We marvelled and returned to all three of St Agnes beaches fora paddle and swim, especially (Chapel Porth) bay with its “Hedgehog” ice Cream treat. East and West Portholland beaches were the Cornwall that I came looking for, Fowey was a delight on every level (from Hanson Road viewpoint over the bay to the gentle stroll from Caffa Mill to the Fowey Rook). Other highlights were; Our walk around Padstow harbour that was a true delight as was the Helford River Boat trip, the Charlestown harbour, our walk to Tavern Beach at St Mawes, and the Rest A While Tea Garden at Hawke Cove (no parking nearby) was a very, very special experience.

I booked Willow Lodge on Tregullon Farm as a central hub for a 5 day Cornish adventure for me and my four year old daughter.

Both of us loved the cabin and were immediatley impressed with its facilities, cleanliness and location. On arrival we met Jill, the owner, who greeted us warmly and took the time to make us feel at home and offered helpful advice. The complimentary cream tea and Cornish fudge was gratefully received after a long drive. The cabin was spotless - both the kitchen and bathroom suites were clean, modern and well equipped. The bed, available as a super-king or as 2 singles, was comfortable. The lounge area with comfy sofas, an electric fireplace and flat screen TV were equally comfortable. The cabin included lots of information about the nearby area and tourist information pertaining to Cornwall at large. Access to the cabin was easy from nearby Bodmin. There was plenty of room for parking and although the other cabins were in use we'd not have known were it not for occasional and polite hellos with the other holidaymakers in the carpark area - it was extremely peaceful and quiet. The surrounding grounds are divided up with foliage to make large individual gardens where we played in the evenings. We had a private and large picnic table, a BBQ and a patio table and there were even outdoor toys and other essentials, including garden furniture, a parasol and some beach equipment in the cabin's shed. Willow's location offered a beautiful view over the nearby village of Lanivet. Its location in the heart of Cornwall, in a quiet countryside setting but only a stones throw from the convenience of Bodmin was excellent. I wouldn't hesitate to visit again for its central location, ease of access, great facilities and prospects as either a small family getaway or a romantic retreat. My thanks to Jill for all of her help.

We have just returned from a fortnight's stay in Willow Lodge.

We can honestly say that this is the best cottage/lodge/cabin that we have ever stayed in. On arrival, we were greeting with a tray containing everything needed for a cream tea & there was a lovely vase of flowers on the dining table There was absolutely everything you would need even down to a little sewing kit in case a button comes off or a hem comes down. There was the usual information folder with some appropriate numbers should we have needed them & there was an envelope containing leaflets for days out. In most places, there's a bin liner to start off with and then you provide your own Not there. There was a roll of bin liners, there was a small box with enough dish washer tablets to last, another small plastic box with washing tablets in, there was foil, cling film, enough cooking equipment for whatever you were cooking. Outside, there was a table & chairs on the veranda, there was another table and chairs on a little patio with a parasol in the shed. The was a rotary line & pegs to hang washing out & there was a swing ball if you fancied a game. Jill & her son Richard were very friendly and approachable. We asked for a fan as the bedroom was quite warm at night, when we returned after our day out there on the veranda was a fan. Nothing was too much trouble. I would highly reccomend booking one of these hand built lodges. We will definitely be making a return visit at some point.

Myself and my partner stayed a week and can’t wait to return to this beautiful Willow lodge.

It’s breathtaking views across to Bodmin. The Christmas trees that stand so beautiful in the grounds are wonderful and so well kept.Car is safe and secure in there car park. We made new friends with the cats and a Heffalump and her calf that live around the grounds. We couldn’t wait to return after a day exploring Cornwall to this wonderful Willow Lodge. It’s got everything you need in and around the lodge. All the family that run this retreat can’t do enough for you. The information about how you get to the location is well written and if you need to stop and get essentials or any other information it’s all there in the pack and email. The lovely welcome pack full of information and vouchers was a plus. We visit places we didn’t know even existed from the pack. The entrance discount and % off deals are worth visiting theses places. We’ve not stopped talking about this stay to everyone because it really was such a relaxing break away. Would recommend anyone staying anytime of the year because it’s just beautiful. Can’t wait for our return and we’re definitely stay more then a week.

We had a great time at willow cottage, It had everything we could have wanted and more.

The bed was great ,quality towels and linen the kitchen was great good quality pots pans cutlery and crockery, good dishwasher, washer/dryer was very good, but for me it was all the little extras like washing tabs dishwasher tablets washing up liquid sponge cloths cling film tinfoil salt and pepper tea towels tea coffee sugar a pint of milk and a welcoming cream tea all the bits we normally take or buy when you get somewhere . The hosts where great ,there if you need them and not if you don't ,always nice to talk to. Great internet took my firestick along that worked well but the TV has Netflix youtube Amazon already on there if you put your settings on. Overall we had a great 2 weeks exploring Cornwall and because Bodmin is quite central your not far from north and south coast. We enjoyed willow so much we booked another week in September and won't Ake half as much as we did this time because it's all there .
