What our customers say about their holidays

An Exceptional Stay at Harbour Lodge, Teignmouth – Everything Thought Of and More! Harbour Lodge was simply outstanding — spacious, beautifully appointed, and incredibly comfortable for all of us. The hosts had truly thought of everything to make our stay special, going above and beyond to ensure we felt at home. They were readily available via text for any queries, which made the whole experience seamless. We’ve stayed in many holiday rentals, but never anywhere so thoughtfully equipped. From plenty of towels to fully stocked kitchen essentials — even the fridge and pantry were packed with a welcome supply of everyday food essentials — nothing was overlooked. There were books, board games, detailed instructions for the fabulous hot tub, and even a spare pair of reading glasses! It was the kind of place where every detail had been considered. The location couldn’t have been better. Just a short stroll to the town centre, beaches (we especially loved Back Beach), train station, pier, shops, pubs, restaurants, and coastal walks. It made exploring the area so easy and enjoyable. The house itself is ideal for groups of up to 8, with plenty of space to relax and socialise — and the private courtyard gardens were a real bonus. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Harbour Lodge and are already looking forward to returning. A truly exceptional stay 10/10.

We had a lovely stay at Hygge House. It was easy to find with the clear instructions and there was a surprise welcome which went down a treat. The property is equipped with very high standard appliances, it's clean, spacious, warm, light and very comfortable. The owner gave us some helpful information about the area upon arrival and there was also a stash of leaflets and maps of all the local walks and attractions which was much appreciated having never visited the area before. The town of Shaldon is quaint and pretty with the beach, shop and local pubs within walking distance of the property which is snuggled in its own quiet corner. I couldn't ask any more from a holiday property, it delivered everything I was looking for.

The Beach Hut number 5 was sparkling clean, warm (underfloor heating), comfortable and bedding was excellent quality, also very clean.

I especially liked the obviously freshly laundered pillow protectors. Patio outside with sun umbrella (unfortunately not needed) was a very thoughtful extra. Unfortunately the television signal was VERY intermittent to the point of unwatchable on ITV. BBC through BBC I Player was much better. Being a lone occupant I found lack of television extremely maddening. David, from Sykes Cottages phoned leaving a voicemail for me. I returned the call but after waiting 10 minutes for an advisor, I pressed the star button for a call back. A day later…I’m still waiting. However, apart from the television problem, I would wholeheartedly recommend Beach Hut 5z

Hygge House was just perfect for our stay visiting family and friends locally over the Christmas holidays. The property was warm and cosy, well furnished and equipped. The owners Dan and Shonagh had decorated the property beautifully with a generous welcome pack and extra Chritsmas treats on arrival, much appreciated. Shaldon is a pretty village with good amenities and shopping as well as places to eat and beach walks for our dog. Ou booking via Discovery Holidays was efficient throughout. A very Happy Holiday....

We had some unforeseen family events which caused us to change our original booking at the last minute, the Team at Discovery Homes were fantastic in assisting us to make a very late change to our booking. They also kept the owners of the property informed as to our circumstances, who were exceptionally kind and supportive during this time. We had a lovely time at Hygge House and would thoroughly recommend it to everyone who wants to stay in the most relaxing and comfortable house in Shaldon.
