Several issues.
1. First evening. The electricity went off when I was in the shower. Called on site manager about 6.00pm. Turned out there is a meter that has to have £1 coin inserted several times to keep the power supply on. Although this is free, we didn't know this had to be done. 2. Also first evening. Bought some shopping in local supermarket. Heated the electric oven up to 180 temperature and soon after there was a strong greasy smell and the oven was close to smoking, so the food was burnt. Also when the hot plates were in use, the oven came on as well, even when switched to off. So called manager back and he checked it and said he couldn't touch it, not to use it and to phone Dartmouth office on Sat 17th Sept. On the 17th the maintenance man came and had to use pliers to adjust the temperature knob as best he could. On Saturday evening we used the oven again and it still became very hot and the temperature indicator was still not correct. We had to turn it down to about 130. 3. The accommodation next door, 305, is being refurbished and so from mid week onwards there was drilling, banging and endless use of power tools. This started about 9.00 am and, when we returned back after a day out, it continued until about 5.30pm. We are disappointed about the issues we encountered. As you arrive at Norton Park its like a throw back in time to the Hi De Hi Holiday camp.
However, once inside Beachcomber its modern, clean and comfortable and provides all you need for a get away break. Norton Park is very quiet and there are no facilities except a prebook pizza delivery on Saturday. so it really is relaxing. We really enjoyed our stay at Beachcomber there were just couple of minor things that prevented me giving a 5 * rating. The property was very neat, clean and well presented. However * the carpark and roadway area was very pot holey and the parking spaces needed remarking * the settee was very low and although comfortable it was difficult to get up off * we did not know about the electric meter in the cupboard, and although a coin was provided the electric did go off causing a power cut * on our first night we report a cracked wine glass via email to Sykes Cottages and have still had no reply over a week later.

My two teenage children (17 & 14) and I stayed in 304 Norton Park.
The accommodation was spotlessly clean and the beds extremely comfortable. We also used the bed settee in the lounge. I used the oven, hob and microwave when preparing meals for us and, again, all were spotless as were the utensils etc. The view is lovely from all windows and the grounds around the whole site appeared well maintained. We had some rainy days so spent time just chilling in 304. Iâm not sure if anyone was staying in any of the other chalets in the row we were in because it was always quiet and peaceful. There was enough space for us to relax and watch the TV on a few evenings but there was a PlayStation and a huge range of DVDs available. We all thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and the children have asked when we can go back to 304!!

Despite the owner knowing about the sofa for over 12 months nothing has been done, part of it is actually broke.
So for 7 days we had to either sit on the dining chairs or more likely, on each others bed,having conversations room ti room. Shame really but it shows the contempt in which the owner holds its paying customers. The rest of the home is irrelevant ,after finding a big fault within an hour of being in the accommodation,especially one in which the owner has known about for a long time, makes anything good irrelevant. I'm disappointed in myself for booking it,and wasting over £400, I simply assumed the problem would of been sorted as the replies by the owner said. I cannot recommend anyone books this to be honest because it's simply a money making enterprise for the owner where the customer is an irrelevance.

Beautiful lodge set in Beautiful surroundings first impressions were how new clean and tidy everything was and the views are outstanding.
Also a lovely welcome a hamper with biscuits scones jam clotted cream and a bottle of wine a very nice touch. Lovely seeing the horses in the fields every morning I can only imagine how lovely it will be on a summers day. Bed was comfy shower hot and walk in wardrobe with full length mirror was great. Kitchen was well stock with pots and pans and every utensil you would need. Down side was no coasters to put cups or glasses on I felt bad putting them straight on the coffee table also maybe some cushions on the settee because this was a little uncomfortable on your back the seat area is so wide , but these are minor things. We all had a fantastic time staying at the lodge and would certainly visit again.
