What our customers say about their holidays

    • The Finest Stays Team - Verified booking

Perched above the ever-changing waters of the Salcombe Estuary, Lustra is a retreat that feels as though it’s floating between sea and sky. From the moment we stepped inside, we were met with a space designed for effortless coastal living—soft hues, natural textures, and vast windows framing those endless estuary views. Mornings began with coffee on the stunning balcony, watching the first boats ripple across the water as the tide ebbed and flowed. By day, we wandered Salcombe’s winding streets, returning just in time for golden hour—glasses clinking as the sky melted into hues of amber and rose. As dusk fell, we curled up in the glow of the open-plan living space, the estuary twinkling below like a secret world of its own. Lustra is a place that lingers in the soul—light-filled, luxurious, and utterly serene. We left with salt in our hair, a sense of calm in our hearts, and plans to return with our friends before the season turns.

Our time at Sea Shimmer was an absolute dream! From the moment we stepped inside, we were blown away by the stylish interiors and those breathtaking views—honestly, we could’ve spent the entire stay just gazing out at the estuary. The highlight for us?- Unwinding on the balcony with a crisp gin and tonic in hand, watching the golden hues of the sunset ripple across the water. It was pure magic! The space felt luxurious yet totally relaxing, with everything we needed for the perfect getaway. Whether it was gathering in the gorgeous open-plan living area, enjoying lazy lie-ins in the plush bedrooms, or exploring Salcombe’s charming streets just a stone’s throw away, every moment here was unforgettable. We can’t wait to come back and relive it all!

We had a wonderful stay thank you. The property has been finished to a high standard with very nice finishing touches. Lovely interiors and a high quality kitchen equipment/crockery. The kitchen is large with lots of storage and room to cook. Lovely touch to leave such stunning flowers to greet us on arrival. The view is stunning and it’s a very short walk into the town so it’s a perfect location. As I say everything was to a very high standard and better than I expected. We would definitely stay again and go through Finest Stays. Everyone has been very courteous and helpful.

We had a fabulous stay at Goodshelter Bay, it is such a beautiful property that has very clearly been lovingly restored. There were 4 couples as part of a stay for a 60th birthday and we had everything we could possibly need, the house was very well equipped and many compliments from all on the comfort of the beds and pillows/duvets etc! Some good nights sleep were had! We really did have such a wonderful stay and would definitely rate it 5 stars - the location is so tranquil, views are amazing and it really is a special property - we were all very sad to leave!

The property is amazing set in a lovely albeit more remote part of the estuary. The gardens are extensive and beautiful. Every possible requirement has been thought of, the kitchen has everything you could need and more. Definitely one of our favourites and we visit Salcombe every year. We didn’t want to leave and it’s certainly one to re-visit.
