Our holiday was awful , the photos of the shooting lodge on your holiday website does not portrait the current state of the lodge , your lodge photo is a least 10 to 15 years old , which can also describe the interior, there was a small bin in the bathroom which looked like it had not been cleaned for a very long time I have taken photos to prove it , the board you place your pots on was disgusting too I had to scrub it with salt and lemon juice picture to prove it , there was biscuit and bread crumbs in between the cushions of the sofa went I went to turn the cushions over to see if they a bit more comfy , the kettle was awful, had to clean the grill to do some toast , the duvet and pillow filling were cheap and nasty , so glad we took our own pillows then went out and bought some sleeping bags which we slept in for 6 days came home 1 day early, the owners never came to see us , I am 79 years old and didn’t want to go cleaning on my holiday, oh there was also when I moved the sofa cushion there was a spider web underneath with a spider in the middle of it , we chose there because I cant drive far as I am having a shoulder replacement next Wednesday, my husband is 80 soon and is partially sighted so fortunately thank goodness he couldn’t see everything , apparently they don’t have cleaners as well , and I bet you don’t do inspections , we can’t afford to spend money to waste like we are on a pension only and we have a spotless bungalow as we have a cleaner and live in a council property , I am truly disgusted, this will go further as the pictures you have on your holiday site is a fraudulent misrepresentation,

A modest, comfortable warm, well designed and well equipped lodge.

Easy to find and set in spectator countryside. We enjoyed two nights at Harry's lodge with our two dogs. The lodge was set in a fully fenced paddock. This was ideal as we could just open the door and let the dogs have a mooch and do their business without a lead. Would have given 5 stars but there were a couple of niggles which didn't detract from a great stay. The shower door worked just fine but was not set in the runners properly so potentially could be hazardous. Also, the mattress was a standard double and very hard. There was a topper in place so there had been an attempt to improve its comfort but I didn't sleep very well. Unfortunately the room would be too small for a king size. I realise mattresses are hard to get right as the are subjective. In spite of this, we would definitely book again, as it was ideal for the dogs and convenient for the exploring the local area, attractions and sites of interest.

      Fantastic 16 day Christmas break.

Our 2nd visit to Harry's Lodge was perfect. Spotlessly clean, comfy seating and beds, good size fridge and freezer, warm and cosy, easily adjusted heating, great shower, equipped with everything you could possibly need and maintained to a high standard with parking next to the lodge . Olga goes above and beyond to ensure guests have a lovely break and is next door if needed, she has worked tirelessly to get BT to sort the Wi-Fi and I can confirm this is now sorted and working perfectly and reliably. One review mentioned road noise, we did not find this at all and slept soundly, the lodge is very well insulated and on a quiet lane. Thank you Olga for your friendliness and hospitality, we would highly recommend and will definitely return.

Myself, Shirley and our dog Copper had a wonderful week at Harry's Lodge.

We were made very welcome by Olga who had left fresh flowers, bottle of wine, chocolates and biscuits on the table plus milk in the fridge. Everything was exceptional, comfy beds and furniture, and so well equipped and absolutely spotless. The lodge is ideally situated in idealic surroundings and close to places to visit. Copper had such good fun having a whole paddock to play in. The lodge is without doubt the best holiday accomodation that we have ever experienced. Many thanks to Olga, Harry and Shaun. We have already recommended the lodge to friends and would love to return sometime in the future. Clary, Shirley and Copper.

The Cottage is absolutely beautiful. There is a lot of space and social areas to spend time although, it still had a nice cosy feel. The attention to detail and amenities are excellent. The Cottage is very well equipped and it was great to have a choice of hot drinks and biscuits on arrival. The location is also fab as it feels very rural but is close enough to shops, pubs and the wider Peak District to get about easily. Parking was easy and the neighbours were all friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed some evening sun sat out on the front patio, overlooking the fields opposite. I would recommend the Cottage in Lea and would love to return.
