What our customers say about their holidays

    • Joanne - Verified booking

On arrival it was clear that the lodge was not adequately cleaned, dog hair behind doors, mouldy potato in kitchen cupboard, cobwebs, dirty cupboards, rubbish left in a bathroom bin, stain on sofa.

No battery in kitchen clock Broken information frame left on kitchen window sill Used candles left near hot tub Used empty olbas bottle left in sauna Plastic glasses for outside use for only 2 people not 6 Wrong WiFi code displayed Not all jets worked in hot tub No heating or hot water in lodge upon arrival , when maintenance sorted the boiler pressure there was still no hot water in bath, pointless having a bath if it can’t be used . ( i have taken photos as evidence) Housekeeping notified Maintenance notified Our time was wasted by trying to sort out above matters when we were only there for 3 nights , Very disappointed with our stay, glad to be home in a clean environment… It would appear that regular checks are not made in this lodge to check standards such as a clock battery, cleanliness, hot tub functioning etc, Little things can make all the difference in a weekend break, we would have loved to return regularly as we live only one hour away and it’s located in a great place. It’s just so disappointing for us.

Lodge was disgusting filthy, old food behind micro wave and generally dirty and cobwebs throughout the lodge.

Under sofa hasn't been cleaned in a long time. Downstairs shower room looks new but dirt cobwebs between show glass and tiles plus something on floor behind toilet. Worst of all was the front upstairs bedroom! Floor was filthy under beds. One single bed mattress was the most uncomfortable and worn mattress I've ever seen, but it was the smell that got me. In the end I took the duvet cover off to find old blood and other stains all over it. I would give that duvet to anyone absolutely disgusting. Broken chair on rear bedroom balcony, and coffee table legs broken in lounge. Light bulbs flickering and some not working. Rear upstairs bedroom wardrobe inners absolutely filthy and boiler heat shield guard missing (looks dangerous) general condition of lodge inside very tired and not as oer pictures. What looked like blood marks on duvet cover and wall in rear bedroom and on the wall. For me the duvet was a healthy hazard, general cleaners is one thing but that was utterly disgusting.

Lodge was lovely and well positioned at the top of the park (not so good if you have mobility issues).

It was well equipped and very comfortable. We had to call maintenance out to deal with a blocked plug in the on-suite shower which was fixed the same day however, we lost internet on the tv early in the week, despite many conversations with the tech team this was never resolved they said they couldn’t fix remotely so a park guy would have to visit, no-one came so we were stuck with free view for 5 days! Having said that this was our 6th visit to Finlake and we will definitely be going again next year.
