"We have just returned from a week at Hawthorne Cottage. What a lovely place to stay, picturesque surroundings and the perfect location to venture the Kent countryside and coast. It's perfectly located for all the beaches from Whitstable to Ramsgate and the many wonderful bays between, we also had a day in Canterbury, visited Howlett's Wildlife Park and other local attractions. The cottage itself is fully equipped with everything you need, including a lovely Smart TV which was handy with two young children in tow - sometimes a bit of quiet time is needed.I would say the only downside is one bathroom. Our family consisted of my 2 children, (5/3) my wife, my parents and the dog, so the mornings were busy and a spare shower wouldn't of gone a miss. There are two locals pubs, a small shop, and a wonderful butchers in Preston. Minster Service has a large Coop where we went for fresh bread and supplies, it's 10-15 minutes away but we generally passed this on our way to and from our daily activities. All in all we had a wonderful, relaxing week and would highly recommend this lovely cottage."

"The cottage has everything you could possibly need for a self catering property, even board games and a selection of dvds. We were disappointed that the pool was not in use as it should have been available until September, we left on 1st, however the weather was not really suitable for using an outdoor pool. The other minor irritation was the shower it was either scalding hot or freezing. the beach was a lot further than we had anticipated so we elected to drive, good location for visiting Rye, Hastings and Camber Sands and the New Inn serves really good food and has a nice walled garden.we enjoyed our stay but would not return with our grandchildren as it is a very old property with steep stairs and has very little insulation which means you can hear everything which is not great with young children also the bathroom is downstairs. The girls loved there stay but were disappointed about the pool. It would be ideal for me and my husband on our own."

"The most unique property we stayed in while a month in great Britain a former polo pony training facility is the location for a barn conversion loft Studio the polo center is now a large equestrian center run by a knowledgeable staff and overseen by our hosts, a London couple who reside at the Center as well as in London-really helpful, interesting people. The studio itself is equipped with ultra modern appliances, bright and spacious. Located in a very small village, it nevertheless boast three nearby pubs and is within an easy drive to larger communities with larger stores. Ideal for touring the western Cotswolds and Oxford area. Excellent WiFi, but poor cellular reception. We thoroughly enjoyed enjoyed it."

"We really enjoyed staying at the cottage in March 2018. It is a very warm and cosy cottage with a very efficient log fire, comfy beds, all mod cons, Sky TV etc, and is dog-friendly so they can come me too! The parking place is right outside the row of 3 cottages in total, in front of the garage. Compton is a very pretty South Downs village with a local pub that is not very pretty inside but does great food. There are numerous local rural walks starting right outside, but we ventured a bit further afield and visited Chichester, Arundel, Brighton, the beaches at the Witterings (East and West) and the Roman palace at Fishbourne, which is fascinating - be sure to take the behind-the-scenes tour if you can."

"Quirky cottage in fab location with stunning views to Rye. Cottage itself suffers from a down stairs bathroom off the kitchen , and bathroom door right by cooker!Kitchen basics all there but very squashed if more than 3 people stayed.Bathroom clean but dated , shower poor, and no where to dry towels unless heating on. Lounge suite tired and a little uncomfortable.Lovely gas fire though. Bedrooms small but pleasant, spotlessly clean , and very comfortable beds. Wooden floors and stairs mean any walking about was heard throughout, ditto for conversations. If all of the above negatives are okie, for a family with young children rather than 2 couples or more, than cottage fine, Winchelsea quaint."
