What our customers say about their holidays

    • Lindsey - Verified booking

Peniarth Ganol is a beautifully refurbished former farmhouse.

It is full of character and quirkiness but with all the amenities you could hope for. We stayed there as a family of 4 adults with two children (our grandchildren), and our two dogs. We all had a great time both in the cottage and in the gardens and it was isolated enough to enjoy peace and quiet but near enough to travel to a variety of different destinations. There is so much to do there and we love visiting different areas of Wales year after year. The owners had thought of just about everything, even providing a large basket of dishwasher tablets and large bags to put dirty linen in. I imagined it to be a soft water area but there was some limescale in the bottom of the kettle which our daughter scrubbed most of it off. It was great to have a choice of bathrooms with the downstairs shower room being very much appreciated. It was great that there was a really useful utility room as well as plenty of storage everywhere. There was also a spacious and ample fridge freezer. Despite all that was provided, we took extra toilet roll, kitchen towel, beach and tea towels, extra bin bags etc so we really were short of very little and improvised where we needed to. There was a huge choice of adults and children's books and games with our grandchildren never tiring of snakes and ladders with much hilarity and cheating going on. The wifi is excellent and useful because there isn't much signal elsewhere until you reach towns. Within several miles, there are plenty of shops to buy provisions with lots of Aldis and Co-ops and a few other independent shops. There are so many stunning hand crafted features of the cottage like the hand made window frames, and enormous dining table, and the staircase. Had the weather been slightly better, we would have had a BBQ outside but when the weather was fine, we went out and about exploring but there was plenty of seats and tables in the garden so plenty of choice for everyone. Great holiday all round and a lovely property and location.

Honestly it was a really lovely pleasant stay.

We didn't have to worry about any essentials. You can tell that the owners are very thoughtful people and has gone over and beyond to make sure that everything was provided for the things that we may need. Even dogs little treats and own bed were provided if you were to bring your dog. The rooms were beautiful and the beds were so comfortable. Although there were no back garden, there is however a perfect view if you go up the steep steps and relax with a brew taking it all in. The area was perfect for where we wanted to go. Zip world is about 20 mins away where they have bounce below, titan zip line, mine tour etc. Snowdon is about the same. Fforest coaster ride is about 30 mins away. Lots of activities we manage to cram in the area in 4 days, we booked these beforehand. There is an info shop outside the bus stop in village for bus times etc. The village is a 10 mins walk and is in a nice quiet area with a beautiful river flowing through. Really nice mountain views. Evening meals were nice but they do closed early at 9pm and the pub shuts at 10pm so best to go earlier. All in all we had a lovely experience and the owners made sure we were happy with everything. Thanks guys we loved it.

We stayed here as a group of 7 in August 2020.

If you are looking for a remote, beautiful holiday home with everything you might need or want then this is your place. The property has been lovingly renovated by the owners with views to die for. The kitchen is well stocked with crockery and cutlery. The 2 bathrooms are spacious and the shower is devine with loads of hot water. The house is so well made that the bedrooms are so quiet you can hardly hear other people moving around the house, and the beds are super comfy. We had a baby with us and there was a travel cot and highchair available. There is lots to do in the area with a short drive to beaches, we did pottery painting at Corris craft centre which was nice, but also lots of walks from the cottage door. A wander up bird rock opposite gives stunning views! I'm sure we will be back, I would like to go in winter to make the most of the underfloor heating and cosy log fire!

This is a beautifully renovated farmhouse in a fantastic location.

You have the peacefulness of being in the countryside but only a 15 minute drive to the beach. It really was a home-from-home and had so many nice touches and facilities (my only minor gripe is that it’s been overlooked about having a mirror near a plug socket so drying your hair is a challenge as there are only mirrors currently in the bathrooms, but that is only a minor thing in the scale of things as they’d thought of everything else). It was spotlessly clean everywhere and the beds were really comfy. You have the choice of a lovely roll-top bath in the upstairs bathroom or an amazing waterfall shower in the downstairs one. Although it worked out quite expensive for us as a family of 4, if you had two families stay, with the maximum capacity of 8 people, then it is definitely value for money and we’d love to come back and stay again

Swn yr Afon was a pretty, well renovated cottage in Beddgelert and had all the mod cons to make it a comfortable stay.

The parking lay-by past the cottage provided ample parking and the walk into the village was 5 minutes. The owners were considerate and friendly and provided us with a Christmas tree and treats for our Christmas stay. It is worth noting that the two main hotels/pubs in Beddgelert (Saracens Head and The Goat Hotel) were both closed in December limiting the choice of pubs to one. Our only concern over the property was the presence of rodents in the cavity walls/ceilings which was noisy and unsettling. Although there was no sign of any droppings etc. in the property the constant scampering above the kitchen and lounge caused anxiety in my son resulting in an early departure. Having flagged the issue during our stay it appears that this is not uncommon in the Winter months due to the cottage's hillside location.
