You may also choose to visit Conwy Castle, an impressive 13th-century fortification that towers over the town. Further afield, the Victorian seaside resort of Llandudno (8.5 miles) is wonderful for a day out, and has an excellent contemporary art gallery, a theatre and Wales’s longest pier. To explore tranquil gardens spanning 80 acres, head to Bodnant Garden (5 miles), a popular National Trust site.
