What our customers say about their holidays

    • Lynn - Verified booking

I spoke to the Owner of the property before we were due to go regarding parking because my husband is registered disabled he has COPD and mobility issues.

He is unable to walk very far and has to use 2 walking sticks. She told us we could park anywhere in the car park but there was a designated car space immediately outside the property which did have in huge letters NO PARKING. One day we had only gone out for a short while we came back and couldn't park the car in that spot. The car park was full. I phoned the owner who came with another lady who had parked there as well and apologized saying there was a big Golf tournament on plus a funeral. Now I respect all funerals but I didnt like being made to feel guilty I was complaining. Its no excuse to parking in a designated car space for that property. I was told it doesn't really happen. The next day we went out again and we couldn't park again due to some one parking a Golf buggy in the same designated space. I phoned the Owner again who had it removed straight away. During our stay we noticed on occasions the Golf club car park does indeed get quite full. Although there is room out side on the road to park. I should imagine in the high summer season the car park would get really full too. There was another two times I had to phone the Owner because on arrival there was no internet connection and the power went of in the property on the Friday morning . Both were rectified very soon by the Owner who was really nice and very friendly and very welcoming. A lovely Lady. We liked the property very much. It was spotlessly clean and comfortable and had all we needed. We would very much like to book again to stay in this property but with the parking issues especially if your Disabled. Unfortunately we will not book again.

There are many good things to say about Fairways and these are our observations: 1.

Guests should be aware that the bungalow is immediately adjacent to the golf clubhouse and whilst the golfers are quiet they do walk past your front door to get to their changing rooms. There is no late night noise. Guests are free to use the clubhouse bar and restaurant, the food is the usual golf club fare. I cannot speak for the course but it is in a good setting and looks well maintained 2. There is no wardrobe in the twin room and no room to install one. A second wardrobe could be put in the main bedroom. 3. The super king size bed in the main bedroom is very comfortable and the room spacious. The lounge is also comfortable and spacious. 4. In the kitchen there is no freezer and no frozen food compartment in the fridge. We stay in many holiday cottages and there seems to be an assumption that guests will either eat out or bring in takeaways or ready meals. The pots and pans are sufficient but otherwise if you wish to cook a meal from scratch you will need to bring everything, from a sharp knife to salt and pepper. Remember also to bring fresh milk and immediate provisions as there is no convenience store within walking distance. A big Tesco, Aldi and Lidl are within 5 minutes drive. 5. The garden is small but secure and the grass is artificial, it took our dog a little while to get used to it! There is a very good walk down the public footpath which runs immediately next to the bungalow. We enjoyed our stay and you will too if you factor in the above.

We stayed here in January this year and the house is great.

The house is really big, downstairs you have a living room, kitchen, dining room and conservatory. The living room is quite big and there is plenty of seating for everyone to sit down and socialise or maybe just watch a bit of TV. The dining room has an extending table which you can set up to suit your party, again giving plenty of seating for everyone. We found the conservatory great because there was another TV in here a games console, this was great for my boy because he loves video games, it also gives the kids somewhere to play. The kitchen is well stocked and there is a utlity room off this with a washer and dryer in it as well a downstairs toilet. There is also a ground floor bedroom and this also comes with an en-suite bathroom. Upstairs you have 4 good sized bedrooms, with the master having an en-suite. Outside there is a big garden which when we stayed had newly fitted artificial turf. There was quite a storm in January which caused some damage in the garden but I contacted the maintenance team and they were straight out the next day to rectify everything. There is also a gate from the back garden leading out to paths that lead up to the beach. Overall this was a great place to stay and I would definitely recommend. If you have a big family, like we do, it's great everyone had their own space and there was plenty of space for us all to get together too.

Modern house with everything needed for self catering.

Good location, close to the beach. Somewhat smaller than it appeared from the photos. Took us a while to figure out where the heating and hot water controls are. Nothing in the emails or printed file inside the house. Bathrooms and showers are great and were much appreciated by our extended family. House well designed and finished with many delightful little details to complement its seaside position. Had an issue with the smart TVs which made us careful to remove our amazon account before leaving. Couldn't get the Xbox to work again instructions would have been helpful. One member of our group is disabled but we took his trike and with assistance he could easily access the promenade which stretches for miles in both directions We had a lovely break in a nice house in a lovely location and lacked for nothing.

We didn't think it was as clean as it might have been, particularly the floors.

The "fridge/freezer" was in fact just a fridge with a very small freezer compartment within and one fridge shelf was missing - difficult to store very much. Bedroom curtains were very thin and flimsy and there was a very bright security light shining through from the golf club car park so it was almost like daylight all night ! A new shower cubicle had replaced the bath, which was OK but there was nowhere to put soap/shampoo/etc anywhere except on the floor - very inconvenient just for the sake of a soap dish ! There was some daytime noise due to proximity of the golf club but, surprisingly, it was quiet at night despite the outside bar and restaurant behind. There was no landline and the mobile signal was intermittent but the wifi was excellent and so was the TV system with Amazon Prime and Netflix both installed.
