"The 10 of us had a lovely time at Sweet Briar. It is a beautiful house with lovely gardens. The owner, Lord Hamilton, was very pleasant and accommodating. The couple of issues we raised he resolved very quickly, although the dishwasher issue he could not fix during our stay, so he gave us some bottles of bubbly to compensate us, which was nice.We loved how close everything is on the Isle of Wight, literally no more than 40 minutes to anywhere. Very handy for Sweet Briar was a huge Tesco Xtra that we made multiple trips to for supplies. The house was well equipped - with 2 kitchens, bbq hut (which we used - was great, just needed lighting), outdoor play equipment, hot tub (which we used, was fab), sun bed and sauna (not used). We visited various beaches (all completely different, yet lovely) and attractions and were lucky enough to visit Sandown bay whilst the Hullabaloo festival was on. Another highlight for the 4 of us that went, was the trip to the local speedway, where it was specially organised for us to enjoy 2 laps from inside the race green. The 3 kids (aged 2 & 4) all loved the garden play equipment, the varied assortment of toys in the kids big bedroom and the trips out - a particular highlight was the Amazon Zoo World - we all loved walking with lemurs and the playground and dinosaur bone dig areas. The local steam train was fun and we all enjoyed the falconry centre and the bird displays .We had great weather so all in all a fab trip!"

"We really enjoyed our stay and Claremont House and Chris was lovely. The hot tub and spa was a lovely addition to the place, although the hot tub could have done with a good clean and a couple of the nozzles weren't working properly.Off street parking was a plus if a little congested at times. This place was advertised as a luxury apartment but for me it lacked the luxury part which is reflected in my review. If this hadn't have been advertised as luxury my review would be very different as it's a nice place to stay. The following is what took away the luxury part for me:No housekeeping all week, only 1 spare loo roll provided and no spare bin bags. The bed was very soft and could do with a new mattress. The bedding had a rough pattern on the duvet cover and pillow cases, I would suggest changing these for plain ones. The towels were too small and mismatched, consider replacing with matching bath sheets. There was a random freezer in the bedroom, would never use it because of the noise it would make, so just remove it.Consider adding some curtains in the bedroom because the sun comes through the slats in the very nice wooden blinds and shined straight into my face from about 5/6am.The light in the bathroom was a waste of time, could barely tell it had been switched on, consider upgrading to a brighter unit/bulb.Other than that everything else was perfect and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay."

"For the amount of money it cost, basic essentials such as hand soap, fairy liquid and salt and pepper should be included.A welcome pack to include maybe a bottle of wine or basics, ie bread, cheese? No welcome pack at all, other holiday homes which were much less had included these. The owner was on site and therefore was overlooking so not much privacy. However she is very friendly and helpful whenever she can be. There are strict instructions re pool 9am to 9pm only, which should be on website, so no chance of barbecue and pool evenings which most people would like.Kitchen badly equipped as far as cooking goes.Advertised two kitchens but only one in use, the second kitchen had covers over most equipment. Did use the washing machine but felt awkward as this was shared.Only four flat screens the rest were boxes.Recycling needs to be listed as to exactly what goes into each bin as it's not clear and owner was obviously annoyed when it wasn't being done properly. The house wasn't as clean as I would have liked but that's down to everyone's own standard.Location was brilliant, lots to do and the pool and hot tub were lovely. Huge shopping complex at the other end of the lane and lovely walks through near by forest and along the river.Dogs not to be exercised in garden and no access at the bottom of the garden as we had imagined so why the lake being near by was mentioned I am not sure?"

"Myself and a group of friends and assorted children stayed at Hazelnut cottage to celebrate a special birthday. The house is fantastically laid out for large parties and there is plenty of space so everyone can either spend time together or find an area to relax. The house is well equipped with everything you could need although you may need to do some child proofing if you have toddlers as there are a lot of ornaments, many of them glass. The garden, pool and hot tub are the highlight of the property and all are well maintained and very clean, the hot tub is a great way to relax when the kids have gone to bed. The location is great for dog walks and the house is pet friendly although keeping them out of the pool on a hot day is somewhat of a challenge. Tammy was very welcoming and although lives on site, is very respectful of guests privacy. A great find and well worth a visit."

"We had a lovely time staying at the acorns. We were met on arrival and the welcome gifts were a lovely touch. The house was clean and there was plenty of space for us all (7 of us stayed). The house is in a great location with several attractions only 5 minutes away. The house is fairly central on the island so the rest are only a short drive away too! I know people have complained about the parking on previous reviews due to the attached beauty salon, we had 3 cars to park on the drive. To be honest we were out all day exploring the island while the salon was open and by the time we got back it had closed for the day. On the one day we were around during opening hours we didn't experience any problems parking. This place is great and would recommend it to anyone wanting a nice place to stay to explore the island!"
