What our customers say about their holidays

    • Ginni - Verified booking

The holiday cottage itself was lovely, big, well equipped and with a great enclosed garden.

However, it wasn’t particularly clean and two of the loo seats were loose, there was mould in the shower grouting and the sheets were stained, as were the towels. The initial view of the outside was alarming as the property sits behind a derelict pub and the front looks generally uncared for. Our main issue was the lack of welcome and hospitality by the owner, Debbie. We got off on the wrong foot I think because when we arrived we nipped out to get shopping and stock up for the week leaving our dogs behind - they are extremely well behaved and we bring our own camera to monitor them. I admit that I completely neglected to check that Debbie would be okay with this because I holiday several times a year in dog-friendly properties and have never had an issue before. We were gone for 2 hrs and 30 mins - the camera footage can verify and the dogs barked once when people were present on the driveway. We came back to be handed a screen shot of the property rules stating that dogs should not be left in the property by Debbie’s sister but no other conversation. I immediate text Debbie apologising for not checking and assuring her that I would respect her rules going forward - she responded 24 hrs later saying that it was distressing to hear the dogs bark ‘all day’ - absolutely NOT our dogs. Debbie also told us that she had ‘family’ staying in her ‘laundry room’ - a one bedroom dwelling just 20 feet from the door of the bungalow. Her ‘family’ consisted of several people, who slept in the laundry room and also in a van on the driveway. They would bang the doors to the van as they went back and forth until quite late into the night (past 11pm) which woke our small children up on several occasions. We found men’s underwear in one of the bedrooms and pyjamas and a wallet in another bedroom with a driving licence in that seemed to match the identity of one of Debbie’s ‘family’ members, (Photos available) and post and deliveries were made to the bungalow whilst we were there. When I told Debbie about the left belongings via text, I received no response at all. There was no cleaning equipment at the property either - we like to at least hoover at some point during the week - although Debbie did lend us her hoover on request. All in all, we felt generally unwelcome and it was a relief to leave at the end of the week

The Dingle is a spacious and well appointed bungalow set in a very quiet peaceful position.

The road down to the beach and pub is a fairly steep walk but there are alternative footpaths through fields and woods to the shore. The garden is mature and very well planted, the area beyond the excellent child/dog proof fence, is gradually and charmingly "rewilding" and worth exploring. The bungalow is well appointed and beautifully furnished and decorated throughout. The open plan kitchen is excellent for preparing sociable meals. We used both the BBQ and the permanent pizza oven which was fun and relatively easy, so come prepared with pizza flour and ingredients and have a go. The access to the front door has steep steps but access to the rear is by a narrow decked sloping path. Parking three cars at the front was easy. From the Dingle it is a pleasant and short walk to the excellent long sandy beach at Amroth; walking to Saundersfoot is easy along the shore path but remember there is the climb back up to The Dingle. It is a great place for a multi-generational family holiday.

      The property was fantastic.

Very spacious with a wonderful, modern kitchen, and fully equipped with every facility you could possibly want. All the beds are fitted with high quality memory foam mattresses and I would say it is probably one the of the most comfortable sleeps we have had in a cottage or hotel. The large enclosed garden was perfect for our two small dogs although if you have a very small dog (e.g. Chihuahua) you will probably want to keep a close eye on the raised decking as there are gaps in the banisters of 4 to 5 inches which one of our dogs managed to squeeze through at one point. The decking is entirely enclosed so you can just not let your dog out onto it. As an aside, we can thoroughly recommend Seven Spice, the excellent local Indian restaurant/take away in Kilgetty. Order your food an hour to two hours before you want to eat though… it is rightly very popular and demand for their food is high. We can thoroughly recommend the Dingle

The dingle is a stunning property with beautiful views, we absolutely loved our stay and were truely sad to leave.

The location is perfect if your like us and enjoy traveling to all the coastal villages. The home was very clean and comfortable, the best stocked cupboards I'm ant holiday home we've been in and plenty of cooking equipment for our large family. Lovely little arrangement of dog supplies in the laundry room including a large choice of dog bowls. The beds were very comfy. When we arrived there was a lovely assortment of gifts including milk amd welshcakes, coffee tea and sugar. Owner emailed twice before the hilday with a welcom package which included some brilliant information, we will be back again hopefully for 2 weeks next time. I wouldn't hesitate to reccomend absolutely fantastic all round holiday home with owners who are genuinely interested in making your holiday lovely. Thank you very much.

    • Jane - Verified booking

This was a very disappointing holiday as the premises were dreadful.

There were cobwebs and spiders everywhere so the property had not been cleaned for a long time. The fridge was dirty with shelving in door missing and seals disgusting. The oven was filthy, the Venus windows were filthy and when opened full of debris and cobwebs with moss on the windows. The furniture was frayed and the whole cottage smelt damp and musty, I had to get an air freshener to try to dissipate. There was no garden as advertised, no washing machine and the freezer was a filthy antique. We left this cottage a day early as I could not stay another night. If it had not been for our grandchildren I would have not stayed even for one night!!! I have photos should you wish me to send for evidence. Such a shame as the location of Wales is so lovely.
