"Lovely cottage with character, nice garden, warm and cosy, added bonus of Netflix, cakes and milk. Shower has good pressure, although there is no power point for an electric shaver/toothbrush, which is hardly a deal breaker! The on road parking was fine too, there was a space available close by, in different places, throughout the week. Fairly busy road but not that you notice, quiet in house and garden.Surprisingly good location - walking distance to shops, post office and pubs etc. Easy to get to places of interest such as Burford, Witney, Lechlade and Abingdon. Bampton is a quintessentially English Cotswold village. Parts of Downton Abbey filmed here and can see why. Lovely area for walks, with or without a dog, found a nice circular route, very flat, near river, through copses and edge of fields, past beautiful houses and cottages. Wellies useful in Winter. Many hellos from local people and some informative conversations too. Can recommend The Plough at Alvescot, The Hollybush in Witney, The Greyhound in Besselsleigh, am sure local pubs are great but was not able to try as meeting with friends and family living elsewhere.Owners are very genuine and obviously loved their former home and are contactable in the event of any issues. Really appreciated that they allowed dogs and have an enclosed garden with a lawned area. Will definitely return."

"Excellent and cosy place to spend a quiet week and, if you have the urge, somewhere from which you can take off and explore Oxford and the surrounding area. Every piece of equipment worked except the security key holder which would not close, and one portable heater, even though I replaced the fuse in its plug. Combined CD player and radio also a bit of a mystery! A really good feature is the open hearth and the chance to have a fire - logs were supplied but if you want more go to B and Q or Homebase just down the road into Abingdon after the A34 interchange. Best local pub is the Merry Miller at Cothill - good food and drink and log fires. Beware of a very busy road just beyond the lane on which the Cottage stands. Cars are driven at well over the 40 MPH limit supposedly in force. Not easy for pedestrians. Information left for visitors very thorough."

"We enjoyed spending the week around New Years Eve in this cute, very quiet and cosy cottage surrounded by a marvellous area. The cottage has been very well equipped and provided us with everything we needed. We would recommend this cottage to parties of two adult persons who both have a body length of maximum 170 cm because it's quite small and most doorways and ceilings have a low max headroom. It contains four sleeps and two separate bedrooms but the kitchen and living room are quite tiny to accommodate four adult persons sufficiently. As we stayed in the Westover cottage during the winter season we had some difficulties in regulating the (traditional) heating system. But may be that has to do with the fact that we are not familiar with the heating system in this cottage."

"As a group of eight friends we enjoyed our stay at the comfortable four bed converted barn. One of 3 in the conversion. There are no amenities within easy walking distance especially in the winter but excellently positioned as a base to explore the many attractions of the area. Oxford and Newbury are les than 30 min drive and Wantage only a short drive away. One negative in the property is the WiFi. No broadband - only a 4G link which didn’t allow connection to a server, so if internet access is essential to a business person, this is not for you. Also, if you are a family with kids, there is only one tv to fight over! We would recommend this property and would definitely stay again if in the area."

"Excellent property right on the main street in Woodstock. Could not get a better location in terms of access to the town and Blenheim. We really enjoyed it here.Great kitchen and lots of cooking equipment including a fantastic griddle, big front room with windows onto the main street for entertaining including a log fire alongside a spacious dining room as well. handy utility room for storing our bikes and cleaning off.Only downside is the traffic noise, especially on weekday mornings as all three bedrooms face onto the street and lorries and cars are not quiet. So as long as you are aware of that its fine. Parking can be a problem, however easy free parking is found on the back streets."
