"The first impression is "wow" the Granary has been lovingly converted, preserving many historical features in a modern comfortable living area. There is nothing much in the village other than a pub which is really more an Italian restaurant than a country pub. We tried it once and found it overpriced for the quality. This was not a problem as we had picked the venue for peace and quiet and were happy stay in during the late afternoon and evenings. Unfortunately, the atmosphere was spoilt by the traffic going past the front of the Granary from 5 in the morning onwards, obviously a commuter short cut, which was only a couple of yards away from the head of the bed and the sound proofing was very poor. This was also true at the back of the property which adjoined the actual mill where the owners lived. At times we could hear them going up and down the stairs and using the toilet, as loudly as though it were in the same room as us. They also run their own outdoor catering business from their home and the smell of cooking was quite obtrusive. I would definitely not recommend the place if you are vegetarian!"

"A beautifully appointed cottage, very well laid out with quality fixtures, furniture and equipment. Plenty of room to store 2 large suitcases, a lot of thought has gone into the comfort of the guests- power points close by to be able to see in the mirror using a hairdryer/straightener, well equipped kitchen with quality cook wear/tablewear, great shower, storage for food in the kitchen and plenty of room in the wardrobe to put out toiletries and store clothes. We loved our stay at this cottage, I think it will be the favourite of our trip. Staying at this cottage also gives you easy access to many tourist attractions/National Trust properties nearby, also the Oxford park and ride. Excellent local supermarket and village pub.The owners very friendly and helpful. A beautifully laid out afternoon tea ready for our arrival.Would thoroughly recommend this property."

"Overall a wonderful cottage. Comfortable, spacious, secluded & in a great location. Lovely friendly owners; non-intrusive of privacy. Perfect hosts who kindly left a generous welcome pack. Lots to see & do in the area with great pubs & eateries. However, the house needs a little TLC. The hob, oven & extractor need replacing. The extractor is rusty & greasy. The oven & tray, pans, toaster & other cooking equipment, all need a good clean. Underneath the sofa seat cushions hadn't been vacuumed for a long time. A new hob, oven & extractor; (£300 inclusive at a large DIY store) a coat of paint and a good clean, would tansform this holiday home into something very special. We adored this cottage and would LOVE to stay there again. But, we would only return if we knew that the cleanliness had been improved."

"The owners were very friendly and obliging(went out & bought a summer duvet for us) and a decent welcome pack. However....don't be taken in by the beautiful brochure photos! The outside is very badly overgrown with shrubs. The cleanliness of the 'Lodge'(?!) leaves a great deal to be desired! The fridge and cooker were dirty, the cooker hood was disgusting, falling to pieces and full of grease. The grill pan had layers of other people's grease in it and there were other people's crumbs on surfaces. There was black mould around the shower, a very poor decorating job throughout and the floors hadn't been cleaned properly. Wi-Fi was intermittant. In its current state, this property does not warrant 4 star. The final insult was being asked by the owners for a £50 deposit!"

"This is a beautiful studio space with a lot of loving attention to detail. The result is impressive. A stunning seating and dining space. Small points well covered (e.g. umbrellas, torches, candles, excellent lighting). We had a warm welcome; the owners were responsive to requests, and friendly. We enjoyed the comfortable bedroom and cosy bathroom. The kitchen was reasonably well equipped. We did wonder whether supplies could have been a little more amply provided: glasses, cutlery and crockery; washing and dishwasher tablets etc. (i.e. more than the minimum of two, for instance). Instructions for working the oven were a little opaque. However, such points should not detract from the generally overall positive impression."
