What our customers are saying about our Pet Friendly Cottages In Monmouthshire To Rent.

"The Firs is most definitely home from home. You can literally turn up with your bag of clothes and start enjoying your holiday straight away. The kitchen is very well equipped and with a local shop just down the road (supermarkets are a short distance away) you can very quickly get settled in. The view is incredible in the daytime and in the dark, leaving you feeling remotely tucked away but the reality is everything you need is close by and the main roads to anywhere just a few minutes away. Although this is described as a cottage you need not worry about low ceilings and claustrophobic rooms. This property has very generous living and sleeping areas with higher ceilings too but without losing any of it's cottagey charm. The garden is beautiful and I would imagine it is a real treat in the summer. The dog run and kennel was very handy too. We considered taking up squatters rights and staying for ever. There isn't a single reason I can think of for not going back to The Firs, although I imagine it will be very popular and difficult to get a slot very soon!!!"

"The location cannot be faulted and the hosts were very friendly and helpful; the views were stunning and a variety of bird life visited the garden. The cottage was peaceful and quiet and the lights of Abergavenny in the distance gave it a fairytale appeal. The water system for the shower and the bath was quirky but one quickly adapted. The only slight drawback was the lack of secondary heating for the conservatory/dining room. It took a while for the heat from the lounge to permeate in the morning and in the evenings leaving the door open made one area of the lounge cold; a situation easily fixed with a fan heater at certain times. Overall, we much enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it. We will certainly be back in the future to use it as a base for visiting/entertaining our daughter and her family in Cardiff, which is only an hour away. Poor weather prevented us from doing much walking but did try the old railway line and a walk round keepers pond. The Big Pit Museum at Blaenavon was well worth the visit."

"The bungalow is set in a quiet location just off the main Monmouth/Chepstow road at Tintern with a woodland backdrop where the air you breath is clean and fresh. There are numerous local woodland walks ideal if you like trekking, bear in mind that the local terrain can be steep in places. Tintern Abbey is about a 10 minute walk down the road next to the River Wye which runs through the village. Tintern has with a couple of nice pubs The Anchor and The Rose and Crown (Steak pub) serving a good standard of food. Close by are shops selling reasonably priced souveneirs and one where milk and bread can be purchased. If the weather is sunny and warm the River Wye glistens, the local scenery is beautiful at any time. Nearby are Chepstow Castle and Raglan Castle both well worth a visit as is the fascinating Littledean Jail an 18th century prison at Liitledean (Crime artifacts and pop memorabilia) If you want a quiet relaxing hoilday this is the ideal place and location."

"The views from the cottage are stunning especially from the conservatory/dining room. Beds were very comfortable and the welsh cakes on arrival were a lovely treat. It was very handy having two bathrooms with young children and the garden was good fun to explore, we even had some apples from the tree. The cottage is about two miles from the nearest shop or pub so is not really easily walkable as its down quite a steep narrow road. The walk up the mountain along the path by the cottage was enjoyable though, and certainly gave the children a good taste of tree roots and sheep up close! Unfortunately we didn't get a chance to light the wood burners in the living room or bedroom but the cottage was still very homely in the evenings."

"Good sized bungalow and plenty of room for 6 friends and a dog! Separate toilet would have been good but not a huge issue, Plenty of hot water for showers and very well equipped kitchen. Short walk to decent pub and Tintern Abbey as well as tourist shops and tea rooms. Some good walks in area but I would recommend trainers / walking shoes. The Fountain (up in the hills) is also highly recommended and just a short drive. away. No shops in village for food items and no cash machines, Nice community run farm shop in Brockweir or take essentials with you!"
