We were after a quiet and relaxing stay with our two adult children, small dog and Grandma, and Seagull’s Rest was perfect for that. We chose the location for ease of local walking and the seafront position. There were flat walks in either direction from the front door but also extended hilly climbs for those with more energy! Also a short walk to the harbour and a lovely dog-friendly pub - a great Sunday carvery (recommend booking first), a cafe and craft shop. The house was spotlessly clean and we found it a comfortable place to spend a week. Some nice welcoming touches provided like washing up liquid, tea towels, hand soap by all sinks, tissues in each room - and a delicious cake! We self-catered for most of our stay and found there to be enough pots and utensils for this plus plenty of crockery. Four lovely comfortable bedrooms, all slept well! A great town with friendly local people wherever we went. Would definitely recommend.

We had a lovely holiday in a clean comfortable house right on the edge of the sea. November was not the best month to visit Minehead but the weather was unseasonably good and we were even able to take the babies on the beach, The cafe next to the the Ship Aground did us a take away breakfast Saturday and Sunday which was very reasonable and well cooked. The pub on the quay has an extensive menu and the food is very good, We can also recommend the fish and chip shop on the sea front. The dog also had a lovely time with lots of walks! Just one negative. We had toddler twins and had to lug cot beds down from home so it would have been nice if a local place could have been recommended where we could have hired cot beds and high chairs. we did wonder whether Butlins would do this?

The house is in a great location just a short walk down to the sea front. It’s a good size too, we were 2 families of 4 and the space suited us really well. Parking for 2 cars is useful, one on the drive and the other on the street with a permit supplied, but there were always spaces. It could have been a bit cleaner, there was noticeable dust and debris and the house definitely has a musty/damp smell throughout. It could also do with a bit of a refresh, the decoration is very tired with signs of age/wear. Our first two nights were a bit disturbed by the neighbours next door playing loud tv/music until the early hours, not sure if they are permanent residents or visitors, but as they are flats their living room is next to the master bedroom.

This is a fantastic holiday cottage. Firstly the location is perfect with sea views in front and the moors just a very short walk away. The cottage itself is well looked after, with everything you could need for a family holiday. Our girls appreciated use of the Wii on the one rainy day we had. All the bedrooms are spacious and we especially loved waking to the sound and views of the sea. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need. All facilities are modern. There is an information book for the cottage and with details of nearby attractions. We did not want to leave such a wonderful place and you can bet your bottom dollar we will return.
