"the house was lovely. Plenty of room for us, five adults, five children (ages 5 to 16) and a large dog.En-suites to every bedroom (6), plus a shower on the ground floor, and a hosepipe in the garden for the dog. Masses of room outside for all to play or relax. Although the garden was NOT secure for a dog. The house was comfortable, beds were good, all the showers worked, we did have to ask for patio door to be unlocked and for bulbs to be changed in one of the showers, and one of the windows would not close, another seemed to be "bent" in its frame. On the gas hob two out of the five rings would not work, and the main oven packed up altogether. they did let us use the oven in one of the other cottages that was not let out, but that was a pain trying to cater for ten in a very small oven, and having to walk it across the way. But we coped and had fun! There was very limited utensils in the kitchen, no mixing bowls, no dishes for the oven and I had to wash ALL the pans before I could use them. Built in bbq, but no utensils for that either. They did not supply toilet rolls, only a small amount in each of the toilets! For the amount we paid there really should have been a few spare, no welcome pack either. There was nothing for children to do, no games in the house, just a pack of cards and a couple of old books. Luckily we took our own. The hotel was quite a walk down a very steep hill, (OK going down) we took ourselves down every night to use the pool, which was clean, but could do with updating, broken tiles need to be fixed. We didn't eat in their restaurant, but the menu looked OK. Apart from that Hotel their was nothing else in the vicinity, just a small local shop. The beach was lovely for us with lots of driftwood and small shells and rock pools, not for small children, as it is quite "dirty sand" . Would I go back? Yes, because I like the quiet and peace, and I know to take EVERYTHING I might need. No, if I wanted to be near a nice beach. Value for money?, I think it is overpriced. But it was quite a late booking, and there were very few places available for a big party plus dog."

"Had a lovely week staying at Bank Villa. The decor is absolutely stunning - all done in accents of black, white, grey and silver with splashes of red in a couple of the bedrooms. Very tasteful and modern, yet in an old fashioned house. The kitchen was lovely - it had the same cooker as I have, so I knew what I was doing straight away! - but the instruction manuals were left for all of the household appliances, right down to the hairdryer in the ensuite! We found the garden a little bit difficult to get up to - the steps are very steep - so I maybe wouldn't recommend it for elderly people, small children or people with mobility problems, although the garden itself was lovely with a great view of Llansteffan. If you're not bothered about going in the garden though, don't let this put you off!Similarly, the spiral staircase up to the attic was a bit tricky to negotiate, but I suspect little kids would love it!The ensuite and the main bathroom were both gorgeous - there's a walk-in cubicle shower in the ensuite for anyone with mobility issues - and an over-bath shower in the bathroom. The house also has the nicest outside toilet I've ever seen! The lounge was very comfy with a nice big TV, and the wifi was phenomenal! (A massive bonus as we had no mobile signal on O2 in the whole village!)As we had a dog, we didn't eat out in the village a lot, but we did try Florrie's Fish 'n' Chips at the beach, and these were gorgeous and the staff were lovely, even giving us a partial refund because the cod they had were smaller than usual! The staff and customers were also lovely in the village shop, although it only stocks the basics. The nearest supermarket is about a fifteen minute drive away, although there's a Spar in nearby Johnstown. We did find the house a little bit chilly when we first arrived, but this could have been because no-one was staying in it the week before. All in all we had a lovely time at Bank Villa. I would definitely recommend it."

"What a wonderfully impressive house, beautifully inside and out.Something for everyone, with large bedrooms, a great fully-equipped kitchen, separate large seating areas and games room. The property had plenty of towels and little other extras, such as toiletries which is an added bonus but not mentioned on the website. The owner was incredibly friendly and helpful, meeting our needs perfectly and I would use again in a heartbeat. The photos online do not do it justice as the rooms are much bigger than they look and the house even more outstanding in the flesh.A couple of small negatives that others should consider is that 2 bedrooms are joined and you have to go through another to use the bathroom making it difficult with 9 adults sharing the house who all wanted their privacy. Before arriving our party argued over the beautiful large bedroom with balcony but then decided against once they realised it was connected to another. We didn’t realise this when looking at the photos or see in the description unfortunately, which left my elderly mother using a child’s single bed downstairs instead of the intended double bed with ajoining bathroom. The busy main road, whilst quiet once windows and doors were shut was a disappointment and left nowhere to walk from the property with our dog or walk in general without having to drive instead. We took 3 cars to the property and found that our more nervous driver found turning right from the property or right into it very scary, especially when there was heavy daytime traffic on the dual carriageway.I would recommend to anyone who knew the small downsides and it’s a perfect holiday home, which we’d all like to own."

"This has the potential to be a really nice place for large groups to stay as all bedrooms are ensuite. unfortunately while we were there the drains were smelly and gurgling, one hot bath tap in the attic bedroom wouldn’t work until it was manually pulled forcibly outwards. The cooker has all the temperatures rubbed off and a knob is missing. The ailing dishwasher failed by Thursday and despite phone calls ( no phone signal didn’t help) and a visit to the hotel on day 2 with a list the septic tank wasn’t emptied until Friday- the day before we went home. The cottage is spacious and nicely furnished and the Internet is ok, there is no phone signal at all but the owners have provided a payphone. There isn’t much to do in Ferryside but lots of nicer places nearby. Access to the beach is over the railway line which is The main line to Carmarthen. The tide was out most mornings so the beach wasn’t visible until the afternoon. There is now a pedestrian ferry to Llansteffan beach opposite timetables are shown at the Ferryside station, it doesn’t run every day There is an indoor pool in the Three Rivers hotel available for cottage guests but it’s also used by folk on the caravan park next door. Food in the hotel was ok we went to the Sunday carvery which was crowded but had lots of choices of meats and an enormous choice of vegetables. If you like you like your meat well done you’ll love it"

"Great area for exploring the sandy beaches of SW Wales. The staff at the hotel (who run the cottage) are very friendly. The cottage advert left us assuming the swimming pool was at the cottages - it isn't - it's over half a mile away down a lane I thought was unsafe to walk along due to it being so narrow and having no footpath. Once there the pool is lovely. In today's connected world I would have expected wifi and mobile connectivity as a must have, especially considering the overall price of the rental. A minor issue was the crockery and cutlery - looks like mismatched leftovers from the hotel. Again with the price being paid, I would have expected a nice matching set for the number of guests. There was a note left on the window sill telling us about the welcome nibble and tipple, nice touch except there was no tipple, only a pack of welshcakes. What could have been a nice touch backfired. The settees has seen better days and ought to b replaced. Overall it's a nice cottage and these minor issues will not stop me returning."
