What our customers say about their holidays

We stayed for 3 nights to celebrate a 50th birthday and this place did not disappoint!

Beautiful location, modern and clean property and in a great location, quiet but close enough to local amenities. This place ticked every box! We brought two large dogs who loved to run in the large, secure garden and then warm up with the underfloor heating. The kitchen is fully stocked with glasses for every need: utensils, pots, pans, chopping boards, serving platters and cleaning stuff. We did find we didn’t have any antibacterial spray or paper towels (but was more than happy to buy) so bare this in mind when doing shopping before coming! There is a mop and Hoover available to use (handy with pets) and washing up liquid, sponges and dishwasher tablets within the kitchen which was really convenient. A highchair is also provided if travelling with children. We had also been left some very delicious cakes which went down fantastically after we arrived. The bedrooms are spotless, with comfortable and large beds and amazing showers in the en-suites. The area is clean, beautiful and quiet with the occasional noise from the nearby roads (nothing major). After reading other reviews, we collected a takeaway from the local Chinese, Golden Bird. We had such a feast and is absolutely worth it’s good reputation. There are many shops within a 20min-30min drive in Bangor, Asda, Marks and Spencers, Waitrose and Lidl all easily accessible by car. If you’re looking for things to do with dogs, we visited Newborough Warren beach which is dog friendly at particular times of the year. This was around 30 minutes drive with parking practically on the beach. Would 100% recommend this stay to anyone with or without dogs. There is no doubt that we will be returning!

We found the property pretty much as described, private and comfortable.

The standard of the furniture, white goods and kitchen utensils/china was excellent and the property, including the hot tub, was clean. One thing that would have been helpful, though, would have been some shelving in the shower room to better hold toiletries rather than the floor mounted boxes. There was no information provided in the property on local amenities. The gentleman who owned the property did come to the cottage on the afternoon we arrived and spent some time telling us about local restaurants and drives around the island, but information provided in this way can be more difficult to take on board. What would have been more useful would to have been to provide a pack of information, which we’ve always found useful when we’ve stayed in other Sykes properties. About four days into our stay, we came across user manuals for the microwave, dishwasher, tv etc. in one of the kitchen drawers (although the info tor the microwave was for a different model). In summary, the property very much ‘did what it said on the tin’ but there was lot of information provided on what we could not to do, but nothing on what we could do. This did not, though, prevent us spending a wonderful week in a beautiful part of the country.

Clean, comfortable, spacious and very well appointed cottage with the added benefit of a hot tub and good parking.

Ian and Hilary were very welcoming and close at hand if needed but otherwise their nearby presence was very discreet. Excellent location to use as a base for exploring Anglesey by car or walking to Red Wharf Bay cross country starting on a footpath that you pick up right behind the property - just walk to the bottom of the garden, turn right and straight after the large gate there is a style (somewhat overgrown!) on the left. You can then follow various footpaths and quiet country lanes to Red Wharf Bay using such as footpathmap.co.uk. My wife and I were there in peak summer holiday season so some of the car parks in the surrounding towns and villages were a bit too busy, but there is a very large seafront car park at Cemaes Bay, which is certainly worth a visit. Also there is copious parking at Amlwch where you can easily pick up the coastal path. We enjoyed a walk along that to Bull Bay, stopping off en route at the Trecastell Hotel for an excellent Sunday carvery, which is highly recommended. All in all we had a very enjoyable and relaxing stay and are very happy to recommend Glasinfryn Cottage for couples looking to spend a relaxing time on Anglesey.

On arrival the house is spectacular and private The kitchen was fabulous and the appliances were easy to use and of a high standard Great size dining table for the family to get together The house was lovely and clean Light and fresh everywhere The beds were very comfortable and lovely bedding en suites were a bonus Lounge area had very nice quality seating which was very comfortable The garden was ideal for the family dashchund and gave peace of mind to us with the garden being fully enclosed The hot tub was a fantastic bonus and we got some lovely time in there The house is located in a good spot ideal for visiting other areas of the island The owners were great not intrusive but there when needed and left a nice welcome pack Our only negative was the road noise as we arnt used to that but this cant be heard in the house if windows are shut and the fans in the bedroom mean you can keep windows shut Would highly recommend this gorgeous house

We had a lovely week, the property itself has everything you may need (even oven gloves which I had forgotten) the furnishings, fittings etc give it a high quality luxury feel.

The added touches like toilet roll, milk in the fridge, fresh flowers when we arrived were lovely, there were even a selection of toys for the kids. The main bedroom is very spacious with a large en-suite, the twin bedroom is smaller but still lovely and benefits from a TV which our kids loved in the mornings. The hot tub was amazing, it was used several times a day especially by the kids, they also loved seeing the sheep and cows in the surrounding fields and amazing views of the mountains from the terrace. Anglesey is very picturesque with has so much to see, we especially loved the rockpools at Penmon point, crabbing off Beaumaris pier and visiting and walking up South Stack lighthouse. Would also recommend visiting Cable bay (rockpools at low tide) and Church bay. We would definitely recommend staying here to anyone.
