Had a wonderful time at Groom cottage.
Itâs a very cute cottage within a complex of cottages. It has all you need and was really well equipped. Susan the owner was lovely, the only problem we had was a broken clothes airer which she replaced immediately. She also provided us with beach chairs and a windbreaker which was fab! The shared pool was brilliant, we used every day, the kids play area was popular with my eldest, but good to know you cannot see the play area from Groom Cottage. The local area is lovely would particularly recommend sandymouth beach ant Tintagel Castle. The cottage is small, the bedrooms are a decent size but living space is small so was a bit of a squeeze for 4 of us. The outside space is very cute with 2 small courtyard style gardens and a front patio. The courtyard gardens are filled with plants and very private which is nice. The front patio is more spacious and less private. The one and only thing I would change would be to add black out roller blinds to the upstairs bedroom windows so you have the option to use them. The south facing light comes in very early in summer, for a lot or people this is no problem but if like me I get woken up by light very easily. But that is the only thing. We had a wonderful stay and we were blessed with amazing weather. Would recommend.

We had a wonderful stay at Penhaven and would highly recommend it as a base.
It's very cosy, well equipped and in a great location- close to the beach, harbour and coast walks, right opposite the village store and a short walk to the always welcoming Paris pub. We were in Coverack with our 2 children for the 90th birthday party of a local family member at the beginning of January and we all loved seeing the colourful Christmas lights along the front, very festive! Things which would have been helpful - a hatchet/small axe for splitting firewood. Some of the logs were too big to be useful. We ended up borrowing one. - instructions for the Sky box, we couldn't work out how to use it! (We had our own devices, so wasn't a problem) - the kitchen table is very wobbly! We tried to stabilise it but couldn't. (also the chairs are extremely heavy - some people might struggle to lift them) - the oven could do with a clean. There was a strong greasy smell when it was turned on (possibly it was used to make a big Christmas dinner the week before?!) Anyway, all minor details - essentially it's a very lovely, comfortable cottage and we really enjoyed our time. Thank you!

Excellent cottage and a friendly welcome.
The human and dog welcome packs were above and beyond and much appreciated. The cottage was clean, light and airy and had an enclosed garden - perfect for the dog. The facilities were good and location was central to the areas we wanted to explore. The local pub (the Rod and Line) was also friendly and served good food. The only downside was the abundance of flies. There was no obvious source (bad smells for instance) but the presence of fly spray and a electric bug zapper suggests we weren't the first to have this issue. It didn't detract much from our stay though - it just meant we had to keep the bedroom door and window shut as much as possible. Overall - would definitely recommend.

Comfortable and well kitted one bedroom bungalow chalet. King sized bed with views overlooking fields and the distant Culdrose airbase on horizon. Some delightful sunsets. Good sized bathroom with tiled shower wet room. Parking to side of property which is alongside another 2 bedroom cottage. Property in just off main road, adjacent to narrow lane, which is a delightful evening walk route. Very quiet location generally but some aircraft flights during the day can be seen at Culdrose airbase on horizon. Overall good value, comfortable quality accommodation in an excellent location for touring far SW

Groom Cottage is a delightful and charming old farm cottage.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here even though the weather was quite dismal . The facilities were kept meticulously clean - including use of the shared, heated pool and itâs changing rooms , childrenâs playground and use of the shared playroom. The kitchen was well equipped in this characterful cottage . The beds were comfortable and the pretty sunroom was a lovely room to eat in. We enjoyed our visit to Bude and would recommend the Prestonâs Arms in the very attractive ancient village of Poughill less than half a mile away. We would love to return for another holiday , thank you
