What our customers say about their holidays

    • Joseph - Verified booking

The Old Corn Store was the first holiday myself and my husband went on together when we had only been dating a few months - and this visit was our 2nd stay at the property (for our 2nd wedding anniversary!

). We received a warm welcome from the hosts - bubbly, milk and biscuits was a lovely touch and very welcome after a long drive from Scotland! The cottage is lovely - amazing views, hot tub and has everything you need for your stay. It was also fun to see the animals on the farm - there are often helpers around on the farm so just ask them and they are more than happy to let you visit the animals. Only gripe would be that we were waaay too warm the first night - however, my husband spoke to the hosts the following day and turns out there was another thermostat hiding behind a curtain that we hadn't seen - problem solved! Only other thing I would say is that the road leading to the farm is very pot-holey and could do with a repair. This cottage is ideal for couples and a dog (we took our little dog with us too). Recommend going to the moors for a walk. Also recommend going into Haworth (we actually spent most of our time there when we were out). A few (dog friendly) eateries worth a mention - Haworth Old Hall (owners are a delight and very tasty food), the Hawthorn (amazing steaks from charcoal grill), The Fleece Inn (yummy pies). Also worth popping to the chocolate shop in Howarth and picking up a box of their signature salted toffee and coconut oil truffles (shop is not dog friendly- but the lady working there is lovely). Thank you for a wonderful stay and we cannot wait to return again! Nikki, Joe and Snoopy x

What an amazing time we’ve had up in West Yorkshire for my 23rd birthday.

Me and my Fiancée enjoyed 3 nights up in the picturesque ‘The Old Corn Store’. We didn’t speak much to the hosts but we were welcomed warmly and greeted with a ‘morning’ when we bumped into them. They accommodated very well for our dog with a paddock at the back for him to run around in. The cottage was very warm, clean and comfortable. The location is perfect, overlooking the town below and at night in the hot tub offered some relaxing views. We visited Haworth and Skipton which offer a wide range of Dog friendly pubs and cafes. Great facilities within the lodge with ovens and hob, fridge freezer and even a dishwasher and an extremely spacious shower. Overall it was just so relaxing and enjoyable which was something we wanted to do on this break. We’re not ones for normally going back somewhere when we’ve been no matter how joyous it may have been, because we like to explore other places. However, we will be making an exception in this case and will hopefully be back before the year is out. Thankyou so much to the owners for having us and for the Prosecco on arrival too. Very classy touch.

The property was lovely with little extras that ''made it''.

We walked in to lovely music, warmth and a homely feel. A welcome pack of biscuits, a bottle of Prosecco and a cute milk bottle! (Not sure if that's std or left by others) On arrival, the initial drive into the back yard area was a little shock - a bit of a run down look, however we feel its maybe being done up and should we return in a year or so, it could look very different. The deer and the hens roaming about are lovely to see, with feed provided for them - had great fun feeding the fowl :-) The yard area and hot tub is private, well maintained and ready for use on arrival. The house is well stocked, welcoming and modern. The owner (Bev) was VERY friendly & helpful, with lots of local knowledge and never tired of my questions! lol Was nice to have direct contact with the owner, instead of someone with no knowledge of the property or area. Local shops are about 40mins walk away, Local WMC ( Bocking WMC) 10mins walk and worth a visit - very welcoming, friendly and looks like recently modernised. Steam train runs from the station within the local village.

      “Amazing stay at Little Barn.

" I cannot recommend highly enough. A perfect base for exploring West Yorkshire and the Yorkshire Dales. The property was great. It had everything you’d need and was tastefully decorated throughout. The welcome basket and fresh eggs were much appreciated treats. The views were beautiful. There were wild deer in the grounds, never been so close! Quite the experience. The chickens also popped by to say hello each morning. You could see the Keighley and Worth Valley railway steam train pass by from the window. Visited Hebden Bridge, Malhamdale including Malham Cove, Janet’s Foss and Gordale Scar, Harrogate, Haworth and Goit Stock falls. There were lots of nice places to eat within a short drive. Galo’s kitchen in Ilkey was so good and such great value. Also went to the Shibden Mill Inn, Engine Social in Sowerby Bridge and Betty’s tea rooms in Harrogate. After a day out exploring, to return to the large hot tub, the private patio area, the free standing bath and comfy bed were just what was needed. Bev was extremely helpful and a lovely host.

Myself and my Husband visited the Little Barn for a few days stay following our wedding on 04/6/21.

We should have been married in April and been on our honeymoon abroad, but due to covid our plans changed. We have never been to Yorkshire before, but we were not disappointed. The little barn is exceptional, the decor is to such a high standard, the bath overlooking the dales is beautiful, and the hot tub in its secluded courtyard is wonderful. we had everything we cod possibly need, and had the most fantastic time. Azeems Indian Takeaway is a must try, and the Treehouse in Haworth is well worth a trip for fabulous cocktails and food. We had an amazing walk to Brontë Village where we visited the The Cabinet of Curiosities and got some beautiful witchy themed bath bombs for the amazing bath tub and an fantastic senic walk to Brontë waterfalls. The weather was glorious, and the walks and pubs/ restaurants are more than you could ever need. I would recommend the little barn, it's a fantastic location and we couldn't have asked for a better 'mini moon'. The host Bev was so helpful, we cannot wait to return! Thanks for the most amazing stay!
