"This is a lovely cottage and we had a very good holiday. Being close to the beach, the local shops and cafes was a bonus. There is no parking on the road outside but we appreciated the owner's offer to park outside her shop to unload and overnight However we found the library carpark nearby was adequate for our needs. The bed was very comfortable with good reading lights and the house was very clean and tidy with nice furniture from the owner's shop. There were lots of nice touches in the property e.g. tissues in the bedroom, sewing kit, picnic basket and nice fluffy towels which is always welcome. There were a couple of negatives however which I only mention because it would enhance the property even more if this was rectified. The weather was very hot and so we wanted to spend time out on the patio at the back. We did find this a bit untidy with fallen leaves, cobwebs and an uneven floor with some furniture that had seen better days. The flower border could also have been planted to enhance this area. As the gate of the cottage went straight into the road perhaps a lock on the gate for young children staying may be an idea. The TV was small and so we had to move it forward each night to see it. (This seems to be a problem in many cottages we have stayed in!)We thoroughly enjoyed our stay however and would definitely go back again."

"Probably an acceptable quick weekend break type property in the summer but not a winter rental. Very basic equipment, a small boat style kitchen with no where to store groceries a small under counter fridge with no freezer. Old tired furniture and no real storage in the bedrooms. The amazingly busy main road is outside the front door and the street light is placed alongside the master bedroom window. Add to this the church clock striking every hour all night means not a place for light sleepers ! One small sofa and one Indian style chair make up the sitting room . The gas fire in the dining room awaits a part so the house cannot be properly heated . I am trying to think of a positive but even on arrival the house was freezing and the owner told us proudly that the heating would come on at 3.30 pm . Her husband who came to replace a light checked the thermostats and timer as the house felt "warm" to him when the heating should have been off at 11 am."

"Extremely disappointing. We did not like the area and when we drew up to the cottage, nearly turned around and looked for a hotel, but so tired decided to put up with it. The lady next door asked us to move our car directly after arriving, we did not intend leaving it there it was just to unload but she opened the door immediately. The cottage is very small and very badly equipped. No lamps in the lounge only a central light. No coffee table. Nowhere to eat a meal even if you did decide to eat in. The bathroom was not nice, needs refurbishment. It was a last minute thing and totally the wrong decision for us. No one mentioned the property is for sale at present. The so called courtyard garden was a disgrace, wouldn't even think of sitting out there and where the key was kept at the front you had to put your hand through an overgrown prickly bush full of white fly. Decided in future not to take any more cottage holidays."

"A lovely little cottage in a small village right next to the beach. The cottage was stocked with everything I needed for my 4 day stay. The kitchen even had salt, pepper, washing up liquid, sponges, teatowels etc that every other cottage I've stayed in fails to provide. Couldn't fault the accommodation, nice and warm and cosy - a perfect place to stay. Very pleasant owner. In the village there is a church, convenience stores, charity shops, café (very nice food), chip shops and a 2 minute walk behind the cottage is the beach. Also a few pubs within 5 mins walk all with excellent food. I was here on business but I always make a note of good places to come back too and this is on my list for this summer."

"What a brilliant hamlet, tucked away in an idyllic location. Villa was HUGE! There was only 3 of us but cottage (villa), sleeps 8. There were several game rooms so you don't need to share with anyone. The swimming pool was heated and a welcomed delight for our daughter who did NOT want to go home after out holiday had ended. The host Terry, was such a lovely man. He was so accommodating and super friendly that he couldn't do enough. He's built a wonderful set of cottages that is secluded and an ideal getaway. No noise, no traffic - just the birds singing in the morning. WE loved it. Thank you. The family that stayed in the Chinnock cottage last weekend. Thank you, Terry."
