"Poorly equipped for self-catering 4 chopping boards but not a single sharp knife, no egg cups, no salt and pepper pots and no bowls/dishes suitable for fruit or salad etc just a large plastic mixing bowl. We did inform staff on site of these problems on first couple of days of week break but not rectified during our stay. Equipped with a Combination Microwave that is very low to the ground so awkward to use and get items in and out of it. None of the containers or crockery that were initially provided were suitable for use in a microwave, two Pyrex containers were provided when this was reported. No hot water in afternoons / evening for second half of the week (builders still on site so maybe something was not set correctly). Supposed to have a dishwasher not fitted and now removed from property details. Shared Laundry facilities not yet installed / available during stay. Open wardrobe area with only 4 coat hangers no drawer of shelf space for other type of clothing so had to keep it all in the suitcase. There was a ramp at the entrance but doorway still had quite a high thresh hold and there are no grab rails in either bathroom to assist in using the toilet or shower so I would not consider the property suitable for wheelchair users. The gardens the building stood in were beautiful and beds and sofa really good quality and comfortable. A bit of attention to detail could make this a really good holiday cottage and issues could be easily rectified."

"This uniquely located log cabin was a delight, close to the Eden Project, Lost Gardens of Heligan, and wonderful coastal walks. We were warmly welcomed by the staff and immediately made to feel at home even logs were supplied for the wood burner which with the sub zero temperatures we experienced made it all the more pleasant. I would add that the normal heating was perfectly adequate. Thirty acres of Pinetum with themed gardens surrounded the cabin and with a café a few yards away serving breakfast, lunches, and afternoon tea what more could one need. We made the decision to leave a day early to try and avoid storm Emma which had also closed most attractions. However we drove straight into Emma and had to find a motel where we were snowed in for a couple of days. Although we are both in our 70's we had a great adventure and will definitely return."

"The garden setting was amazing and the photos don't do it justice. Lovely to sit out on the patio and eat breakfast looking at colourful plants - I felt very lucky to stay in the grounds. We were made to feel very welcome when we arrived and being close to the on-site cafe meant that we could ask for anything if we needed it. The WiFi was good (better than we get in London), meaning that we could catch up on work without leaving the property. The kitchen was smaller than I'd like, but the combi microwave served well as an oven, and the fridge was fine for a short stay, with a big enough freezer section. There were a couple of supermarkets in easy driving distance (and probably walkable) and it was a good location for seeing lots of sites in Cornwall. We hope to stay again - everyone in our family loved our stay."

"Magical is the word that best describes the setting of this lovely holiday lodge. The grounds are amazing and to have them to yourselves before 10.00 and once the gardens close to the public is a wonderful experience. It is the perfect place if you have a dog. If you are keen gardeners or photographers this is the holiday for you. The lodge is clean and compact with everything one needs ideal for a couple. The bed was very comfortable with good quality bedding. The shower room is beautifully fitted and there are soft fluffy towels. The cream tea on arrival was delicious with fresh baked scones. All the staff are exceptionally helpful and very informative. This was our first but certainly not our last visit to this very special place."
