What our customers say about their holidays

    • Mrs Jackie Gorman - Verified booking

A wonderful farmhouse, beautifully decorated, with everything an extended family could need.

7 adults, 3 children (8, 7 & 3) and 1 medium dog, enjoyed a great holiday together here. The garden is fully enclosed so your furry friend is safe. A huge plus for us. The hot tub was great, and the patio and garden are ideal for the kids to play and adults to relax. The farmhouse itself is just perfect. Lots of space. A really practical, beautiful bespoke oak kitchen with everything you could need. The lounge is large with an enormous inglenook fireplace housing the log burner and plenty of seating. Beautiful deep pile carpet that our girly girl daughter said was divine. All of the bedrooms are spacious and have plenty of storage, and the beds are really large or super large and very comfortable. Mattresses on the the firmer side, which suited us perfectly. The bathrooms are spacious and have fab showers with great pressure. The children couldn't get over the space. The single thing we all absolutely loved was enjoying family meals in the dining room together at the lovely dining table. Our 8 year old granddaughter said that's what she loved the most about the whole week. The games room was well used too. There was nothing we didn't like. Everything spotlessly clean. It is in a rural location, so be prepared for some narrow lanes with passing places. We had 2 x 7 seaters and a saloon car and didn't have any problems. Plenty of parking. Dog walking along lanes and footpaths. Ordnance Survey maps free trial was useful. Easy enough to get to Bristol, Weston-Super-mare, Brean Sands. Would highly recommend Tynings Trekking for horse riding, and we had a wonderful day out at Noahs Ark Farm and Zoo. Well worth the money. Would highly recommend Nempnett. Owners live nearby, but completely unobtrusive. We also ordered a Tesco delivery for the evening of our arrival which worked perfectly well.

Had a lovely bank holiday weekend stay with my family of 10 at the Old Stables.

( 6 adults & 4 Children) The conservatory has wonderful views and the property was warm and welcoming. 3 beautifully appointed upstairs bedrooms all with en-suit bathrooms . The ground floor didn't quite work for us as there is a room with bunk beds and a pull out sofa in the lounge. As some of the children were young they needed/wanted to be closer to their parents so we had adults using the sofa bed and bunks. That said, there were 10 of us and feel it would be perfect for 3 couples upstairs and older children on the ground floor. The Kitchen was very well equipped with everything and I mean everything you could think of... it has a 'shared' laundry room and other than not finding a broom , has everything available to use. I think my only negative was, there is a separate attached East Wing. This became occupied on our second day. There are no boundaries set and it was a little uncomfortable when the people there entered through the shared laundry room and sat on the garden chairs directly outside the stables. Looks like we are sharing a garden, they said !.........I couldn't say either way as I didn't know either. The pool house is warm and the water is too, great for young children . There are towels to use and although a little dated, was a great hit with the children. To get to the pool house, you need to go out through the garden and this needs better signage or even ' a sign' Overall, a lovely place to stay but maybe needs an easier booking system of pool sessions and some clarity of the grounds use with others!...

We stayed here to celebrate my 60th birthday.

This is a beautiful house with a lovely garden in a beautiful location. We did swim in the freshwater pond and it really did add to the experience including the pond life. The games room was a great extra and we made good use of the table tennis table. Plenty of space downstairs for 8 people but I would say that the beds did not feel enough for 8 adults, the 4th room with the trundle bed would be better for children and we had to move the chest of drawers onto the landing to extend the trundle bed and leave room for 2 adults. This house is very much the owners home and it felt strange at first because very personalised. We loved the decor downstairs but again the upstairs was a bit too much like staying with a relative for a few nights particularly the 2 childrens rooms. No wardrobe space in the bedrooms except for the master where a space had been made among the owners belongings. Very little drawer space and many of the drawers were filled with clothing and underwear belonging to the owners children. I had the master suite which had a lovely bathroom and views of the garden. Im not sure my family were particularly impressed with their sleeping arrangements but were too polite to say as I had paid. Four bathrooms with great showers in all of them. We had a fabulous week in the house but there are improvements that could be made particularly upstairs

We were a family of 3 generations and had a great week at the house.

The gardens are gorgeous and the rooms are all beautifully furnished and the upstairs games room was priceless as it kept the two youngest very happy for hours on end playing ping pong and watching TV. Our favourite thing however hands down, was the swimming pond and we went in it almost daily, come rain or shine. It was also lovely just to sit next to it and watch the reflections of the clouds in the water, the swallows dive into it by day and the bats flutter around it by night. The children made full use of the hot tub, and we loved having the horses behind the house and enjoyed the eggs we were given from the chickens. The house is in a fantastic location with so many places to see within a short drive. We managed trips to Clifton, Tyntesfield House, Ashton Court (not that exciting in itself but the cafe is worth visiting), Bath, Symonds Yat and a coastal walk near Weston Super Mere. We also visited the local village shop (Honey & Ginger) and the Failand Inn pub for a meal. Waitrose and Tesco were only about a 10 minute drive away in Nailsea, I would definitely recommend staying here and I've already had a couple of friends ask for the details to the house.

The Old Stables is a lovely barn conversion with stunning views.

It is comfortable and well equipped. But there are some issues that need sorting out. First and foremost is gaining entry on arrival. We were given a four digit code to access the key safe for entry to the property. There is no key safe, so we had to text the owners. (They have impaired hearing so voice calling is out of the question.) Fortunately they live close by and a lady came and let us in. Thankfully it wasn't raining while we were waiting. There are several windows with broken latches. A shower cubicle with a light that doesn't work. A heated towel rail that leaked water. The patio doors leading from the conservatory are very difficult to lock from the inside, we could only manage it from the outside then re enter the property through the kitchen patio door. These issues didn't spoil our stay but they need sorting out especially as this is a very expensive place to stay. Don't be put off from booking this property, the swimming pool is a real bonus and there are beautiful walks on your doorstep.
