What our customers say about their holidays

Booked this holiday 30th August until 6th Sept 2019.

.. Unfortunately we had to come home on the 3rd couldn't cope with accommodation any longer... The place was spotless and well equipped but not for the elderly or disabled like the property information led us to believe … Bedroom beautiful furnished with a King size bed … Bathroom lovely big walk in shower but no grab rail or Bath mat to step out onto and it was a wooden floor so very slippy … The lounge had a sofa and two chairs which were fine if you were young but we could not get up out of them they were so low and the sofa so soft … My husband had cancer surgery and follow up treatment so we thought this would be ideal for him … we resorted to sitting on hard kitchen type chairs to watch the tele not comfortable at all... Then to top it all we arrived Friday the 30th August and on Saturday morning 31st August the road had closed for 7 weeks … no diversion signs we had to keep going well out of our way to get anywhere we were not informed about this … I am not knocking The Old Stables it was spotless and well equipped like I previously said but needs some attention to make it more ideal for the elderly and disabled we paid out £436 pound for 3 days not happy we feel we were mis informed

Beautifully presented house in a fab location.

The bed in the master bedroom was so comfy but the pillows in all the bedrooms were a bit cheap, however there was plenty of fluffy towels provided. The stairgate was great for keeping my dogs downstairs and the utility/boot room was big enough for their 2 crates. Others have mentioned the access to the parking being tight, we have a huge car and it was a bit of a squeeze turning into the lane, but the car fit the space and we didn't use it once we'd parked up, there's no need with the buses and trams right on the doorstep! It's so close to the amenities and the prom which we walked every day with our dogs. We highly recommend Kays for fish and chips and my teenage daughter loved Boba Star at the bottom of the street for the latest craze, bubble tea! Nikki the owner was friendly and checked in with us a couple of times, including a text after we left to explain about the missing toaster. We will definitely book 37 Nutter Road if we return to Cleverleys.

Property location excellent for trams and town centre.

Bathroom - excellent shower lovely towels but found it lacking a bath mat which made the tiled floor very slippy. Bedroom- really comfy bed with lovely bedding and ample wardrobe and drawer space but only one bedside table (enough room for 2) and something sharp sticking out of bed base on the side near the window (caught my leg on it getting out of bed ) Kitchen- ample cupboard and worktop space but the sink wasn't fastened down properly, laminate flooring in front of the sink was damaged and loose, we found the stools uncomfortable to sit on to eat a meal. We did notice that the windows although double glazed looked old and most of the units had blown and had condensation in between the sealed panels. The small front garden was full of weeds and a couple of dead or dying plants and the positioning of the bins wasn't great (underneath the front windows). The overall impression we got was that the house could do with some love and attention.

This is a very well situated property for trams, buses, shops, cafes & the beach which are all within walking distance of a few minutes so no need to use your car at all really!

The house is quite comfortable & very clean although the low sofas & soft mattress on main bed were not for us-which is personal preference I know. There were certain areas which need attention such as the front door lock, kitchen taps, curtain tie back holder in main bedroom which was hanging off the wall & tv reception kept breaking up-probably needs an aerial booster. There is a lovely kitchen but the inferior quality cutlery, oven trays & badly stained jugs let it down-also no small glasses or egg cups provided.I would have given this property 5 stars but for these things which let it down. Having said that,we enjoyed our stay & would recommend it.

-Does not state property is the back of a garden centre - Patio not closed off between each property or scure at all not suitable for dogs (Panels also missing) -Garden centre visitors can on look and park outside.

No privacy - Grass area not fenced off and garden centre visitors can access. -Although dog friendly be aware that you are not allowed to leave your dog alone. ( stated in the T&Cs indicated after the first night stay) however it is impossible to take a dog with you everywhere. -A dog should be allowed to be left for a reasonable amount of time within socialable hours. Any dog will bark at passers-by. Would have thought if it was a major issues the dog was left and causing so much hassle to have received a call or message to return to the property immediately. -Would not recommend for those under 65 and dog owners

After years of dereliction it was restored by the local council and opened to the public. It is run by a group of volunteers. The museum is spread over 4 floors of the windmill, and displays historic artefacts about the windmill's life and local history. Admission is free, but donations are welcome.
