What our customers say about their holidays

THE FANTASTIC FIND While searching through holiday listings I came across this wee gem and didn't really hesitate to book it.

We were travelling with an infant which was noted in the guest numbers. The owner made contact with us to see if a highchair and cot was required which was appreciated as I hadn't got around to requesting them yet. Upon arrival the house is everything as described and shown in the photos. The odd bit of furniture is different now but it's still the same high standard and well decorated property. The property has everything you'd look for. A well equipped kitchen with everything you need. The open plan space means you can comfortably spend a lot of time in this area too. The sitting area has a TV with Chromecast so you can use your usual streaming apps. There's board games and even a playstation too so even on a rainy day you won't be stuck for something to do. The whiskey provided may help too if you fancy a wee dram! 1 bedroom is situated downstairs with a double bed and en suite if anyone staying has mobility issues and perhaps can't manage the stairs. The other 3 bedrooms are upstairs. Anyone with a dog will be pleased to find an enclosed garden but note they are not allowed upstairs in the house. There's a good walk across the road too. The hot tub was as expected, clean and great for relaxing in. The property is roadside and a small office building opposite but it was quiet and nothing to bother us. Just a 10 min drive to Ellon for the essentials which has a Tesco. There's some takeaways and restaurants too with Nazma and Brewdog I can recommend. Overall a fantastic property and facilities in a good location for exploring. I'd return again if looking to stay in the area.

Amazing! We arrived to a warm welcome from Diane who gave us a tour of the house and explained how things like the heating /hot tub etc work.

There was a yummy plate of fresh cupcakes and a basket of essentials on the counter as well as milk & prosecco in the fridge! The cottage was spotlessly clean, modern and had everything you need to enjoy your stay. There was a games cupboard & a book cupboard both with a wide variety of games & books for all ages. The location is perfect. Remote enough to enjoy the night stars in all their brilliance but close enough to Inverurie for all your shopping needs. Lots of amazing places to visit. Check out Newburgh Beach to see the seal colony, Balmeddie Beach & dunes, Pitmedden Gardens, Haddo house, Tarlair outdoor swimming pool (derelict now but lovely all the same), Drum Castle, Crathes Castle and New Slaines castle. Many of these are part of the National Trust Scotland so it's worth purchasing a membership if you intend to visit more than a couple of their places. Ice cream lovers won't want to miss Barra Berries for the most amazing ice cream. It's less than 10 minutes drive from the cottage so you might want to visit more than once! The highlight for our boys (2 sons with special needs) was definitely the hot tub though! Our youngest was in 2 or 3 times a day. It was well maintained, freshly filled on the day we arrived and Diane checked it daily for chemical balance & cleanliness. It was the touch of luxury we needed after 6 pretty rough months. We can't wait to go back!!

Just wow!! What an absolutely stunning property, we didn't want to come home

. The owners certainly go above and beyond in making sure that everything you could possibly need, is provided. As with other lodges, we packed certain things other places have never had but Woodend Croft was so well equipped, we couldn't quite believe it. They had everything from an air-fryer, to a slow cooker, to drying robes, to bowls and towels for our furry companions. They even had a selection of games, oh and let's not forget the fabulous welcome gift hamper. There was even some whisky for us to have a wee dram!! If that wasnt enough, the garage is set up with a mini fridge, dart board and mini pool/hockey table. Even the decor is gorgeous, it's so well thought out, very inviting and relaxing. I adore that the photos in the property were of the local wildlife and the mountains. The beautiful fragrances of candles and diffusers were by a local company as well. They clearly pride themselves on showing what Scotland and Aberdeen has to offer. Can't wait to go back!!!

In a lovely rural setting, Nef-Stedi is all it appears to be online, - and more.

A friendly welcome followed by a quick tour of the house to explain a few things from owner Diane and we were left to enjoy ourselves. The accommodation is excellent with comfortable beds and lovely sparkling clean bathrooms with powerful showers and lots of quality towels provided. Pretty much everything we needed was in the kitchen and we enjoyed the experience of the super hot tub - accompanied by a glass of bubbly! A good selection of plastic glasses was provided to use safely around the pool; an example of the care and thought that has gone into equipping this property. Useful utility room with washer and tumble dryer. Lovely area, with plenty of places to visit. Castles, distilleries, beaches and wildlife hot-spots (seals at Newburgh beach and Spey bay for dolphins) all in around an hour's drive through the attractive countryside. Would definitely recommend Nef-Stedi as a base to explore Aberdeenshire and beyond. We had a very enjoyable stay.

I took the girlfriend (along with our 2 sausage dogs) here for our anniversary back in November 2023, I couldn’t of asked for a nicer place.

Genuinely, I am in love with this house, it was impeccable!!! I would not of changed a single thing. We met the owner, by chance, upon our arrival and he was super friendly. He even kindly dropped me a text message letting us know that you could see the Northern Lights, which made the trip even more special. Pitmedden could do with a pub but Ellon is only a super short drive away and has all you could ask for. Finding dog friendly properties with enclosed gardens narrow down our options massively but finding enclosed gardens that are dachshund/small dog escape proof/enclosed are even fewer. This was one of the few which made us feel much more at ease letting them out, especially at night. We came from Leeds and it was a long, long journey, but… i have zero regrets. I loved our trip to Woodend Croft and i honestly can’t fault it. Thank you for making our 10 year anniversary holiday so special!
