It is a bit sad this review as the flat deserves to be treated better than it is.
It is tired and some things need replacing. Chairs in the lounge have severe water damage. Apparently, the owner is aware but chooses to do nothing. On arrival I could not open the front door. Another resident told me it just needed a little manipulation and he then failed to open it. The lock needs either maintenance or changing. Internally things like toilet seats are discolored, not at all appealing. Bathroom floors and tiles needs attention and the kitchen needs updating. In terms of cleaning, this is difficult because as things are so tired it will be difficult to clean although we did wipe over the cupboards to remove coffee stains, I think. So some attention to detail by the cleaners may help. Badly chipped glasses did not help our overall impression. As I mentioned to your Dartmouth office , you are promoting this flat as a high-end product. In its current state it is not. At some point you must decide if you are prepared to risk your reputation because an owner will not spend on their property. Every year I stay at the Marina hotel a few times. We decided on an apartment to provide us with a bit more flexibility. This we got. Its just a shame about the condition of the property. You do not need to print this, but I would appreciate your thoughts.

Beautifully maintained apartment, gorgeous high ceilings from a bygone era, furniture was very comfortable, especially the bed.
So important to have a comfortable bed when away from home. Lovely bathroom too, very spacious and clean. Good quality kitchen tools and equipment, the only thing I'd say was missing was a 'normal' frying pan rather than the wok styled pan. (We actually bring our own as we often find frying pans are not fit for use). A liner for the grill pan would have been appreciated, as it happens, we bring our own foil to do this with but some cottage owners do put a liner in the base of the grill pan. It was a real home from home as we spent all day Monday in the apartment as it was The Queen's funeral so a real test of homeliness. We also had to buy food to cook as there was nowhere open on Monday evening (due to Queen's funeral) so the grill and hob really did a great job. One extra dishwashing tablet would have been handy. The only thing we found 'odd' was the coat hook in the hallway - it must've been put up by a very tall man as my 6ft 2 hubby struggled to reach it and at 5ft 1 I had no chance! We liked the balcony too but didn't use it much. We rarely ever revisit the same place but if we were to revisit Ilfracombe we'd happily look to rent this apartment again. It feels spacious, homely and is very clean. Big tick!

We have stayed at Diddly Squat 8 times over the last 6 years and just returned after a two week stay.
A fantastic and very comfortable and homely apartment. However we have noticed over the last few years an increasing number of stains on carpets and furniture, the splash black in the en-suite didnât appear to have been cleaned very well, and the top shelf of the wardrobe was dirty, and there were very few coat hangers (good job we brought plenty ourselves). Also a number of the mugs were badly stained, we had to bleach them, and no hand towel or soap dispenser for upstairs loo (has been in the past) despite asking at the office during first week. We booked the second week after the first week and when speaking to head office I enquired whether there would be any discount for booking the second, I was promised on two occasions by two different I do ideals that they would enquire and get back to me. I had no contact from anybody. We love the Marina and Diddly Squat and hope comments will be taken on board. Thank you again for a memorable holiday in the delightful Dartmouth.

On approach to the property we were impressed by the curb appeal compared to its neighbours.
Accessing the carpark was a little challenging but the space was adequate for our small car. Entering the building we were impressed by the quality of decor and furnishings and this continued as we entered the apartment, all appliances and soft furnishings were of good quality and in almost new condition. The rooms were all very spacious and there was ample storage. The extra small touches of wine, water and soft drinks, tea, coffee etc. and fresh flowers were a lovely added suprise. When settling in on our first evening we were disappointed by the level of noise. The single glazed windows meant that conversations could easily be heard from passing pedestrians and the almost continuous road noise was only made less prominent by the noise of Royal Mail vehicles reversing up the steep hill alongside the building any time from 7.30am! Such a shame as if the property had secondary glazing fitted our review would be 5 star.

The apartment is a recent conversion on the second floor of the Grade II listed building, situated a few minutes walk from both Landmark theatre, the Tunnels beaches and other Ilfracombe favourites.
The apartment was modern. spacious, comprehensively equipped and, despite being booked at very short notice, immaculately clean with a welcome pack provided. It's about 10min level walk to the Harbour but a climb uphill up to the main shopping streets. Overall a very pleasant stay in a lovely apartment. A few things to note: the building is on the main road to the Harbour and can be noisy. The entrance to the car park is off Fortescue Road, which is between the Belgrave building and the Devon Beach next door. The car park entrance is then first left up a narrow lane at the rear of the Belgrave building. The first few steps from the car park are quite narrow. The key safes are behind you as you face the entrance door. A front door key would have been useful but not essential. The information folder for the flat was good but a couple of things needed updating and guidance on recycling would be useful.
