"We have just come back from a lovely, comfortable and relaxing stay at S13851, just what we all needed. The cottage is located on a farm where there are chickens and a lovely pig, the area is peaceful and just right for a retreat. It is ideally located for access to many tourist areas around the area, just a mile from Battle , such a beautiful olde worlde place with its famous Abbey, and historic town of Rye, and the coast. We had jaunts out as far as Dover (an hour away) and Camber Sands is just 25 minutes. The owners are very friendly and helpful, couldn't be better. The cottage itself is well heated and warm, has good hot water, TV (small screen, but very clear and has an integrated DVD), good free wifi and all over facilities you'll need. If you bring a dog, you won't be able to let him off lead but there are areas to exercise him on a long lead in a field, though bring your wellies in winter or wet seasons as the ground is very marshy, you won't be able to go in there without them! The only thing to beware of is it's a bit hazardous out onto the road and coming in. It is accessed right off the busy A21, which is far too fast while you're going slowly trying to find the entrance. Your sat nav will probably turn you off right to Marley Lane, which isn't the right area, just continue about 300 yards up from there and the turning is on the left - marked by some white posts. I had to drive past a few times before spotting it due to being blinded by oncoming traffic, so drive carefully on finding it the first time."

"When we got to the property we were very disappointed to find it wedged between a b&b and a caravan park. The P&O ferry terminal was directly across the road so the view from the front windows was just the port. The house was cleanish but not spotless. Hairy soap in the shower, a cupboard full of dirty glasses and our westie narrowly avoided choking on a peach stone. The garden was not as advertised at all with the lawn being the size of a large rug, but sloping and up some steps. However, my elderly father, in particular, loved sitting in the lounge watching the action at the port. If the windows are open it's very noisy from all the traffic too. So, would we stay here again? Well, yes we probably would. The accommodation has everything we needed, was comfortable and spacious. We found lots to do within an hour's drive, even though the party ranged in age from 13 to 86. If you're looking for a property that gives you a comfortable base to go from it's good. The bonus is if you want to catch the ferry to Larne, you definitely won't be late!!"

"Cute little cottage and ideally situated for doing the touristy things that East Sussex has to offer. We were met by Andrew (one of the owners) given a tour of the farm and introduced to some of the 4-legged residents. S13851 was sparkling clean when we arrived and Penny had left home made shortbread and flowers - such a lovely touch. The cottage is bijou - downstairs has everything you could need for a short break. The double bedroom in the loft (very comfy bed) is approached by steep narrow tread stairs from the lounge. There is limited headroom and no window. You are bent double at the side of the bed (not good/impossible) if you are very tall or have mobility difficulties) and the bedroom does become very stuffy overnight. A fan is provided if needed. There is a hanging rail for clothes and two bedside tables. The cottage is very pretty and Penny and Andrew are welcoming."

"Extremely well-appointed and equipped property - lovely large kitchen and bathroom. Only downside is that the lovely terraced garden is not completely dog proof or designed with dogs in mind - but we managed with our 2 labradors (thanks for letting us have two!) and they were highly excited by resident Phil the pheasant! Ideal weather for us for walking though muddy underfoot. Great location for straight out onto downland walks and only short drive to coast. Much appreciated local facilities in Shorwell village - PO and local shop and pub; also not far to the shop in Brightston with its selection of local foods. We bought fresh local lamb, asparagus and fresh fish straight off the boats at Ventnor. May 2012. "

"we had a fantastic holiday at S23753 one of our best so far the children loved watching the ferry coming in and going out .The kitchen was very spacious and gave us a very warm and homely feeling with a big dining table to fit everyone around. The sitting room is nice and big with a cosy feeling and very comfortable couches, and a nice big window overlooking the veiw of the ferry ,the niose of the lorries did not disturb us at all even by night.the surounding area around loch ryan gave us plenty to do climbing up the hills and a visit to portpatrick with its stunning views. We will Hopefully return again for another holiday with g-ds help. A big Thank you to the owner all the best family Gross from manchester"
