What our customers are saying about our Holiday Cottages In Caerwent To Rent.

"Comfortable cottage with a very friendly and helpful owner. There is a good level of equipment. The cottage is really quite hard to find as there are no signs whatsoever on the road to indicate where S67669 are to be found, nor even which is the farm where it is placed. When one does happen on the right property by trial and error, there are no signs or indications of any kind to show which build is S67669. I txted the owner in advance and we also rang the numbers provided but the owner did not reply to let us have arrangements for arrival so we had to just leave a message suggesting an arrival time and hope she would be there, which she was. No claim whatsoever is made that the cottage is in a scenic location but prospective renters should be aware that it is in a stable yard surrounded by farm buildings which are all that can be seen from the windows. I was warned when booking the the advertised wifi might not be wholly reliable but I mistakenly took this just to be a matter of the renters covering themselves. In fact, I was never at any time able to access wifi from the house and had to go into the yard to get a signal. When booking, please be aware that the smoke detector on the landing goes on every time you have a shower, necessitating standing on a chair at the head of the stairs to switch it off. The cottage is very well placed for visiting attractive local market town and the many historical sites in the area."

"The bungalow is set in a quiet location just off the main Monmouth/Chepstow road at Tintern with a woodland backdrop where the air you breath is clean and fresh. There are numerous local woodland walks ideal if you like trekking, bear in mind that the local terrain can be steep in places. Tintern Abbey is about a 10 minute walk down the road next to the River Wye which runs through the village. Tintern has with a couple of nice pubs The Anchor and The Rose and Crown (Steak pub) serving a good standard of food. Close by are shops selling reasonably priced souveneirs and one where milk and bread can be purchased. If the weather is sunny and warm the River Wye glistens, the local scenery is beautiful at any time. Nearby are Chepstow Castle and Raglan Castle both well worth a visit as is the fascinating Littledean Jail an 18th century prison at Liitledean (Crime artifacts and pop memorabilia) If you want a quiet relaxing hoilday this is the ideal place and location."

"The cottage is a converted stables on a working farm. It is comfortable, with a decently equipped kitchen. There is a pub and a village shop within a mile or so, and Chepstow, Tintern Abbey and the Forest of Dean are all within a short drive. If approached from the north or west, it’s a fairly hairy drive down very narrow single track roads. Fortunately there’s not much traffic, but we found it much easier to approach from the A48 through the village. The wifi wasn’t working during our visit, and several light bulbs were missing or blown. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay."

"Good sized bungalow and plenty of room for 6 friends and a dog! Separate toilet would have been good but not a huge issue, Plenty of hot water for showers and very well equipped kitchen. Short walk to decent pub and Tintern Abbey as well as tourist shops and tea rooms. Some good walks in area but I would recommend trainers / walking shoes. The Fountain (up in the hills) is also highly recommended and just a short drive. away. No shops in village for food items and no cash machines, Nice community run farm shop in Brockweir or take essentials with you!"

"Fabulous location with plenty of things to do in the local area - I particularly enjoyed Black Rock Picnic Site and Caldicot Castle. S49702 is comfortable and has everything you need. I was pleased to find Sky TV access as that’s unusual in a holiday home and it came in handy on one particulary rainy day. Sadly I didn’t get to meet the hosts Faye and Paul but they were very helpful with recommendations for walks, shopping etc. Thank you for a lovely stay - it was a much needed break and the perfect place to get away from it all."
