"S25826 is most definitely home from home. You can literally turn up with your bag of clothes and start enjoying your holiday straight away. The kitchen is very well equipped and with a local shop just down the road (supermarkets are a short distance away) you can very quickly get settled in. The view is incredible in the daytime and in the dark, leaving you feeling remotely tucked away but the reality is everything you need is close by and the main roads to anywhere just a few minutes away. Although this is described as a cottage you need not worry about low ceilings and claustrophobic rooms. This property has very generous living and sleeping areas with higher ceilings too but without losing any of it's cottagey charm. The garden is beautiful and I would imagine it is a real treat in the summer. The dog run and kennel was very handy too. We considered taking up squatters rights and staying for ever. There isn't a single reason I can think of for not going back to S25826, although I imagine it will be very popular and difficult to get a slot very soon!!!"

"The location cannot be faulted and the hosts were very friendly and helpful; the views were stunning and a variety of bird life visited the garden. The cottage was peaceful and quiet and the lights of Abergavenny in the distance gave it a fairytale appeal. The water system for the shower and the bath was quirky but one quickly adapted. The only slight drawback was the lack of secondary heating for the conservatory/dining room. It took a while for the heat from the lounge to permeate in the morning and in the evenings leaving the door open made one area of the lounge cold; a situation easily fixed with a fan heater at certain times. Overall, we much enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it. We will certainly be back in the future to use it as a base for visiting/entertaining our daughter and her family in Cardiff, which is only an hour away. Poor weather prevented us from doing much walking but did try the old railway line and a walk round keepers pond. The Big Pit Museum at Blaenavon was well worth the visit."

"S21604 has plenty of space for two people and the layout has been well thought out. It has been tastefully decorated. It is modern but still has a cosy feel. The inside of the cottage was very clean but the outside area could do with some work to make it more attractive - just some flowers would help. The mattress is comfortable but sits below the level of the wooden frame in which it sits. This makes it awkward to get in and out of bed. There is no blind for the bedroom sky light which would be a problem in summer (this has been mentioned in the visitor book several times). The appliances were adequate but the TV was very small and the bathroom lacked an extractor fan or an openable window which meant it steamed up very quickly. The lid for the dishwasher tabs is missing and the lid for the bin keeps falling off."

"A bright, comfortable, well equipped apartment which exceeded our expectations. My only negative comments are:It is close to a road (not a huge problem but they set roadworks outside on our second day, which caused a lot of traffic noise with the lights outside our window). This wasn't the fault of course, but it simply means it is not a perfectly quiet, country setting. The bed in the main bedroom is a Double. The room is easily large enough far any size bed and a King would be better, particularly for tall guests such as me.That is it, on the moaning, though it would be a plus if the place had wi-fi. The mobile signal is very poor in this area and a connection would be most useful these days.Otherwise the place is well equipped, spacious, clean, tasteful and comfortable. We woulkd certainly stay here again"

"Comfortable and we were greeted with fresh flowers, eggs, milk and bread which was a nice touch. However the cottage lacks the basics like internet and phone reception. The television in the lounge is too small and the one in the bedroom was about the same size as our laptop screen. The shower is ok however the screen leaks. The bed is not comfortable. The wooden 'four poster' frame makes getting in and out of the bed awkward. Some information regarding rubbish collection days and local shops in the area would be handy. We stayed for a week (Aug-Sep 17)and so the washing machine was handy however there is no dryer. Would have preferred a dryer to a dish washer or freezer. Overall we enjoyed our stay however it could be better with a few tweaks."
