What our customers say about their holidays

    • Karl - Verified booking

Myself, my fiance and our daughter (4) stayed here the last week in July and thought it was amazing.

We were a bit nervous holidaying so soon after covid lockdown was eased but needn't have worried as the cottage was cleaned to a high standard and had a healthy supply of antibacterial gel, handwash, and cleaning wipes/spray. We were pleasantly surprised to find a welcome package with necessities such as tea/eggs/milk/etc. And my daughter was over the moon to find cake and chocolate biscuits. The kitchen was also extremely well supplied and had everything we needed (except eggcups), this was great as I like to cook on holiday. There was a good selection of supermarkets nearby and some brilliant take-out options too. The wifi was brilliant and allowed us to stream shows for my daughter without any problems. Prior to arrival I was a little worried about parking but the cottage is in a lovely spot with plenty of space to park outside. The garden is beautifully kept and really spacious- great for dining outside in the sunny weather (garden furniture available in the shed). There is a Castle and nature reserve within walking distance and a childrens play area in the village. You can head into Rhyl along a beautiful river walk or take a short drive in the car. We visited Towyn, Prestatyn, Rhyl, and Llandudno and only scratched the surface. I would definitely revisit the area as there is so much we missed and I wouldn't hesitate to stay at Jasmine Cottage again, it was brilliant.

Fron Haul is a lovely place to stay.

We had a lovely friendly welcome from Vicky the owner who was helpful and only too happy to help with anything. A modern, open plan property with furnishing to match. Spotlessly clean. A very good and tasty welcome pack and the prosecco cooling by the hot tub was a lovely surprise. 3 good sized bedrooms with one downstairs which for a member of our party made things a little easier. The upstairs balcony with bbq, hot tub, large table and chairs, and heating is a joy to sit and socialise, watch TV. The kitchen is well equipped. Comfortable sofas to sit and relax with bifold doors giving views to the lovely countryside surrounding the property. A rear patio with table and chairs was lovely to sit and have lunch. We had a great stay and a unusual surprise was being able to collect our own eggs from the hens opposite the house. A lovely touch and they were delicious! Fron Hau is a great base for visiting other areas. We did walk into the local town (Ruthin) about 40 minutes on a narrow, busy road. Not recommended if there are young children in the party. There is parking in town and a few supermarkets there to stock up! To sum up, we had a smashing time in a lovely property. Was very quiet and peaceful and our batteries were fully recharged. I would happily recommend a stay here and would definitely return.

We spent a week at this wonderful house and are now thinking about when we can go back!

After spending many fabulous holidays in Sykes accommodation and lots of times in Wales, this has been the best we've stayed in (and it was up against some tough competition). The house is simply gorgeous. Very private and secluded but only a short distance from Ruthin which has plenty of shops, restaurants and bars etc so you get peace and quiet but are close enough to all you could need too. The owner couldn't have been nicer and the hamper on arrival was a wonderful welcome touch that far surpasses any we've ever had before. Having the horses for neighbours, a huge hot tub in a wonderful garden, just as well equipped outside as in, was amazing. Inside the rooms are very comfortable, tastefully decorated and well equipped, with a stunning kitchen which would be wonderful in any home. Only thing missing was a phone signal (which we knew about as it's in the listing) but in my opinion actually improves things. Good WiFi so not out of touch but no phone signal was a good excuse to have a bit of a holiday from the phone too. We loved this house, in case that's not already obvious lol, and would definitely recommend.

Wow what a wonderful cottage, the photos dosnt give it justice.

Such a lovely lounge with french windows ,dont have to go to the back door to let the dog out,It was great to find a mini hamper/gitsmwelshcakes,milk,tea,sugat etc,no need to run to my bags and get them.As soon as i arrived i put the kettle on, though it was late.Wonderful owner.host who helped any way he could.Though it mentioned the main road it didnt bother me,Quiet and peacfull, with being not overlooked,Lovely little stone church behind and the castle further behind ,Lovely large patio and garden areas.Found aldi and other shops very handy,Went for walks along the river,100 yards away and never met a soul each evening,Rooms were spacious and very clean .the bathroom with a great shower,Id recommend this to anyone,if i dont find a house to buy in North wales soon,I will be going back to this cottage.Oh the stairs are a bit steep so those with mobility issues just beware.Otherwise a fantastic stay, and i dont use that word very often.I could have moved in myself, just home from home,Thanks to the owner John,Andrew from Southport

      Wow...

....where do I start !!! What an amazing cottage, firstly for any dog owners I know how important a secure garden is and my pint sized pooch was very safe and had a great time in the wonderful large garden. Also great selection of garden furniture and trust me its a must to sit out enjoy the sun and the absolute piece and quiet. The cottage itself was a home from home, very comfortable and after a couple of days you have to remind yourself you don't live there........ the cottage is kept to a high standard and is very clean, kitchen is a great size and well equipped for cooking. The area itself boosts many beautiful attractions. The river is only a stone throw away and the castle is just a 5 minute walk. Talacre is my beach of choice and this is just a 15-20 min drive. A must is Dyserth Waterfalls only 5 min away and an absolute natural beauty. I can honestly say I didnt find anything that I was unhappy with, oh apart from I had to go home at the end of the week.......Thank you to John for a wonderful holiday. :)
