"Disappointed in not having an enclosed garden or patio as stated in the description from the website. We had booked the dog as it stated an enclosed area. There is NO garden or patio to sit in/on.Parking was a nightmare that weekend as the house opposite had 2 large vans and a car parked throughout our stay which prevented us turning around. My daughter had to reverse down a very irregular driveway to be able to get into the space - she has an SUV and it was difficult- not for the inexperienced driver that's for sure!No instructions were available on the place- I didn't realise the isolator switch in the inner hallway was for the hot water in the kitchen, so boiled kettles when we got there for the washing up. I tried turning it on, late Saturday, not knowing what it was for and bingo hot water to the kitchen. The Wifi details were scribbled on a scrap of paper put in front of the TV.The shower room is in desperate need of TLC. It's obviously had a water escape at some time, so floor covering was buckled and poorly fitting- a shame as the shower was very good.Despite that, and the fact we were only staying for 2 nights it was adequate."

"This was my first holidays with my wife as we got married on 30th June on the Saturday and what a way to celebrate at such a beautiful place I call our little heaven. We will definitely be back I would recommend it to any couple . If I’m honest both pubs are good the hand and the West arms but for me and my wife the hand was the best the service to the food was gorgeous the people were really pleasant. We will be back we didn’t want to leave and what a beautiful scenery in fact that’s does quite it how good it is these not enough words to describe how amazing place it was but I’ve tried me best. The animals were great from sheep eagles pheasant and rabbits . The view u get from the balcony is just breath taking having breakfast in the morning was all I can describe is heavenly and we can’t thank you all enough we have fell in love"

"This is such a beautiful location. Especially for people who love natural beauty combined with steam trains. There aren't as many walks as you might expect in such a remote location. They are all on roads. Being on the railway gives the place a lovely old world feel. Definitely a place for steam train and diesel enthusiasts. The house is lovely. The garden is nice, but was unfortunately not secure for our dogs. Our biggest dog was through a hole in the hedge and up the road within 30 seconds of arriving. We had to keep our dogs on their leads in the garden for the whole week which felt like a huge restriction in the middle of the countryside. I would definitely recommend this house though."

"The holiday cottage was lovely with wooden worktops and all the kitchen equipment you need was helpful! Couple of issues were the fact that the “hot tub” isn’t a hot tub, it’s a lazy spa. Though the addition of a lazy spa was lovely in the evenings the whole reason we booked this cottage was because of the hot tub so we’re a little disappointed. Also the disconnected aga which we couldn’t use just smelt of oil all the time. Other than that the cottage was lovely and well presented. Comfy beds with soft pillows (even if they were a little too thin for my personal liking). Location was lovely but very remote and if your not a confident driver then this is not the cottage for you!"

"The owners live next door, and are perfect hosts. They ensured we had all that we needed and we knew that we could call on them in the event of any difficulty. We were assured by their proximity but were undisturbed. The barn was beautifully furnished, warm and peaceful. It was as described and we were not disappointed! The barn had every home comfort and we appreciated the quiet location. The games room adjoining the barn was a bonus and equipped for all ages. We did not have any children but the adults had great fun playing air hockey and pool! Highly recommended and we certainly hope to return!"
