"The cottage & the grounds were lovely. Our main issue was the cleanliness dusty floors cobwebs behind units etc. But the main issue was the fridge; no racks on the doors mould round the seal and found a mouldy artic roll in the freezer compartment!! We were staying over Christmas so needed a full fridge. No instructions on how to use the cooker tv etc. Wood burning stove wood was plentiful and was told to help ourselves great but.. no kindle was very hard to light. Was described as being decorated for Christmas, there was a tree with a few baubles, 2 crackers on the table and a tea light.Nice touch was milk in the fridge & some cake The pub in the village is lovely however it has odd opening times only a couple of lunch times and late evenings. On the whole very disappointed"

"A very well located cottage for all we wanted to do and it was interesting to learn of the history of the cottage.Exceptionally well presented bathroom and kitchen with equipment available. Did think that perhaps pots and pans had been dishwasher washed as there was a powdery film over some of them and they had to be washed before use. Had to contact owner over one small issue and she was very obliging. A lovely welcome pack had been left for us. Amenities in village were very good re shopping and eating out. Fantastic chip shop!!Parking was a bit of concern as there was no guaranteed parking spot so you were always a little concerned about finding one. We always did but a walk away from cottage."

"The cottage has all of the necessary appliances but not Wi-fi. It is dated and hence no pictures of the kitchen or bathroom. On arrival most of the mugs and a salad bowl we’re dirty and there is no welcome pack. (Not essential but welcoming.) The pub is friendly, popular and serves good basic food and is over a mile away down the private drive and A29. The gated private drive is also the simplest entrance to the property avoiding the narrow lanes and dirt tracks of Madehurst. Well situated for lots of things to do."

"We really enjoyed our stay at this cosy get away. Our hosts were friendly and helpful. We went on some lovely walks from Compton and in the local area. The facilities were excellent and the cottage well resourced. We had a good evening in the village pub and would definitely visit again. It would have been nice if there had been an OS map we could have borrowed, but that was just a minor thing and did not spoil our holiday."

"Nice rural holiday hideaway with friendly owners. The Cart House is comfortable, with good facilities including strong Wi-fi signal. Despite going in a cold season, the Cart House is well insulated and warm having only been renovated within the past 5-6 years, according to the owner. Only cold room was the bathroom, were the heated towel rail did not seem to be working. Overall good value for money."
