What our customers say about their holidays

    • Mr Alcoran - Verified booking

Longmace house is a beautiful property which kept the old features and combined it with modern touches. It is bang in the middle of Arundel so was a great base to explore the town and its surrounding areas. The property was very spacious and well equipped, perfect for a family getaway or even a gathering with friends. We also luckily stayed during a weekend where the farmers market was held and it was a real treat. Although no allocated parking, I wouldn’t worry about it, plenty of car parks and on street parking, there is also free parking on mill road if you get lucky with a space. We had a restful and enjoyable stay, plenty of walks for the dog too. We highly recommend this place and Paul was very informative prior to our arrival which was a bonus.

Swan Cottage was a delightful residence that fully met our expectations.

It was comfortable, from the main lounge to the second lounge all was really good. The balcony overlooking the river was a delight. The beds were comfortable and warm. The bathrooms and showers were excellent, and the toilet on the ground floor was very convenient. The kitchen is modern and well kitted out. The owner also left us milk, biscuits and a bottle of wine to welcome us to our temporary home. Swan Cottage was our home for the week. Arundel is a lovely town with good pubs and excellent, if expensive, resturaunts. The surrounding area has many interesting places to visit, the pick of which was the Weald living museum, the home of BBCs "The Repair Shop". All in all, a very good choice for our holiday. Would highly recommend.

We loved our stay at Longmace and had a great time. The cottage was restored to an extremely high level and equipped with everything you could possibly need. The location was superb. Communication with the owner was really good and he answered any queries/questions promptly and helpfully. We would definitely return to this amazing place. From our perspective the only downside is that there is no outside space but that is made clear in the particulars and may only cause an issue in the summer. However, the location almost negates that. We also felt that due to the fact that this is a very old building, the structure is such that in two of the bathrooms you need to be a ninja to negotiate the space!

We had a marvellous holiday in Swan Cottage.

It was tastefully furnished, extremely comfortable and with every conceivable facility. The décor was clearly thoughtfully chosen and the outlook onto the river was a bonus. We were fortunate to have beautiful weather on each day except one. The opportunity to visit the beautiful Arundel Castle was appreciated especially as it was within walking distance of Swan Cottage. Similarly, the town centre could be reached on foot - an important factor bearing in mind the problem of parking in the town centre. All in all, we had a quiet and relaxing time.We were looking forward immensely to being there and the peace and relaxation it promised and we were not disappointed.

The cottage (more like a house) was everything we hoped for, and more.

It felt as though the entire property had just been refurbished - everywhere was spotless - from carpets to walls, furniture and utensils. Attention to detail was also much appreciated - from hooks on the back of the bathroom doors to spare batteries just in case the TV remote failed. (It didn't.) And although it's not really featured in the pictures, the 'spare room' leading to the balcony with the river view is another nice place to just chill. The road noise is obviously apparent, but knowing about it in advance meant it wasn't a nasty surprise. We just turned our backs and faced the other way for a gorgeous view up river.
