"Location is fantastic, especially for walks on the beach and around the coast with the dog. We were blessed with beautiful weather for all of our stay. The cottage is well equipped. This was our second visit to S14039, the first being over a Christmas period. We did not need the open fire this time but we have fond memories of the fire during the festive period. One minor comment would be - I found it difficult getting comfortable in the TV Room. The sofa's look comfortable but I seemed to end up 'sinking' into the cushions with the result of the furniture frame under my legs which ended up uncomfortable. A minor issue and not one that would prevent us booking the cottage again.Note: the public house just across the road from the cottage is now closed meaning that a car is required to travel to the nearest pub/restaurant."

"We really enjoyed staying at the cottage in March 2018. It is a very warm and cosy cottage with a very efficient log fire, comfy beds, all mod cons, Sky TV etc, and is dog-friendly so they can come me too! The parking place is right outside the row of 3 cottages in total, in front of the garage. Compton is a very pretty South Downs village with a local pub that is not very pretty inside but does great food. There are numerous local rural walks starting right outside, but we ventured a bit further afield and visited Chichester, Arundel, Brighton, the beaches at the Witterings (East and West) and the Roman palace at Fishbourne, which is fascinating - be sure to take the behind-the-scenes tour if you can."

"We loved staying at S14039. It was very comfortable and cosy It was close to or on numerous walks. The weather for the time of year was good too, bar one day. It is a fun place with lots of history, local shops , pubs and places to see kept us busy all week . Well stocked with games although we’d brought our own . Definitely worth booking I did make a slight bloomer in thinking 8 adults could use it but it’s a 6 +2 children as one bedroom is off another. No problem though as booked my brother and his wife into an air B and B close by . We cooked either breakfast or supper and are together on the large table and played games till late . Simply a marvellous holidayCould benefit from WiFi Thank you"

"The Bull Pen is an extremely spacious and well equipped cottage. We didn't need the disabled facilities, but these are excellent for anyone who does. This is an excellent cottage for anyone looking for a break in the country. The village shop (yards from the cottage) is well supplied for all the essentials and has a lovely teashop in it as well. Supermarkets and towns are further away. We had a reception committee of a green woodpecker and saw a deer when walking in the woods at the back of the cottage as well as buzzards."

"Have been here several times and it has everything we could want. Lovely old cottage with very nice garden, and is excellently situated in the middle of the village. Lots of space both inside and out, beautiful antique furniture in one section and bright modern living area in another. Have contacted both the owner and the housekeeper on a few occasions and they have always been very nice and quick to respond to any requests. I have always enjoyed my visits here and would highly recommend. Thank you."
