"This is a stunning little cottage very clean and the owners are very nice and very helpful. I am loathed to give any negatives but there are one or two that have to be mentioned. Firstly we have cottage holidays in the UK two or three times over a year and this cottage is expensive for its size in comparison to the cottages we rent in England and Wales at the same time of the season. It is a studio cottage rental but the best has been made out of the space available. The cottage is situated behind the owners house in the back garden and it is not really for anyone that has mobility problems. The chairs give little support and there is no couch due to space availability. On a positive note, the kitchen and bathroom facilities are good although the kitchen has limited work surface areas, but, plenty of utensils if you are cooking your own food. This is a very warm cottage if you venture out in the low season. Good television reception and the Wi Fi is fine This property would be good if you like to play Golf with Turnberry ten minutes away or if you like walking. Nearby historical sites are Culzean Castle and better still if you take photographs is Dunure Castle which is awesome. Then a fairly short drive to Alloway for the Robert Burns experience. There is a grocery store just a short distance away which has almost everything you could want including what I suspect to be the biggest selection of flavoured crisps in the UK, never knew the flavours existed. I like to fish for trout and there are quite a few waters available with just a short drive. All in all we enjoyed the visit, I would not return due to my personal health problems, I simply just need a bit more space and I would not rent a studio accommodation again knowing what I know now. But for all you healthy couples out there, this is a good rental and well worth a visit !!"

"Our 3rd visit to Island View,,this time however we were disappointed in the cleanliness of the kitchen worktops, sink, doors and floors. The Ladies had to do some cleaning before our relaxing weekend could start. Log burner in back lounge hadn't been cleaned out from previous occupant either,,,being a weekend of mild weather we didn't need to use it. Clothes also left in drawer from previous occupant and t-shirt found behind bed in same bedroom. We did contact Alan the owner who said he would sort out a gift voucher for us for local pub as way of compensation,,,sadly he never carried this out and also never bothered to reply to last message we sent him. The 4 couples won't let this put them off and will probably return again next year....as a paying customer it is nice to be acknowledged and sadly we feel our concerns re the cleanliness were not taken seriously on this occasion."

"From the moment you open the door you know it's going to be a lovely experience. The cottage is tastefully decorated with attention to detail. Electrical items are high spec and furnishings very comfortable. As I stayed in mid October the weather wasn't great and it took a little while to warm the cottage up, an extra radiator in the hallway would have helped and the icing on the cake would have been able to use the open fire or had the use of a log burner. I would imagine the garden would be a joy in the summer months. Pinwherry is a tiny place with no local amenities but Ballantrae is just a short drive and has a well stocked shop. I went to unwind and recovery from an illness so found the peace and quiet just what the doctor ordered. Highly recommended a stay at Bridge cottage."

"While a lovely location on the estate and lovely clean modern accommodation, for our family it was the wrong location and that was totally our fault as we didn't research it enough. We felt we were constantly in the car for an hour daily to get to places with enough for us to do and we left the accommodation for a night to go on a road trip and see a bit more of Scotland. The weather was particularly wet while there also limiting our activities but absolutely nothing wrong with the cottage, very welcoming and owners lovely - couple of minor bits, a radio would have been lovely and some fireside implements, we felt the outdoor seating at the back was a bit gloomy and sometimes sat in front of the parking area on the grass, to enjoy the views and sunshine"

"Lovely break in Ayrshire and the eather overall was fine, the cottage was very well equipped but when we arrived the owner had left no heating on for our arrival and it was freezing cold and took a full day to warm the property through. We were grateful the owner honoured the booking and allowed us to bring our small dog along. There was no heating whatsoever in the kitchen and pretty poor insulated patio doors and this made the kitchen not a pleasant place to be.the garden was lovely and I can imagine it would be great sitting out there and relaxing in the summer The property is close to a busy road but I am not certain whether this was because another local A road was closed and traffic was being diverted along this road"
