"Unfortunately my friend and I were extremely disappointed with our break at S23510. We arrived on Tuesday afternoon on a bitterly cold day. S23510 itself is well equipped and clean. Unfortunately we were unable to control the heating from inside S23510 itself as the owner controlled the heating from his house which was attached to S23510.On the first night which was extremely cold I went to the owner next door to tell him we had no heating and we were absolutely freezing. Unfortunately there was no answer at the door but strangely enough the heating came on shortly afterwards for a few hours!!The following day the owners approached us as we were leaving and asked if everything was all right. When I told them about the heating the gentleman said it was on 24 hours and we could control it from S23510. I can assure you this was not true and the control he showed us did not operate at all it was controlled from his own house!!!! Unfortunately because we were so cold we had decided to cut our stay short and come home the following day as I developed an eye problem as well. When we returned to S23510 that day The owner came out with an oil filled radiator and said we could use it if we were still cold. I cannot believe he actually done this as we would never contemplate using a radiator if the central heating was on. He also said he had turned the central heating up.We returned to S23510 at 3.30pm and timed when the heating was going on and off, The heating came on at 8.30pm and went off at 11pm. It came on the following day from 8am until 9am.Fortunately we were coming home on the Thursday anyway as we just couldn't tolerate the cold it was absolutely freezing and the owners were made aware of it on more than one occasion. So unfortunately our wee break turned into an extremely unpleasant experience, we were supposed to stay until the Saturday so it was an extremely expensive outlay for two nights stay. Very very disappointing."

"This is a stunning little cottage very clean and the owners are very nice and very helpful. I am loathed to give any negatives but there are one or two that have to be mentioned. Firstly we have cottage holidays in the UK two or three times over a year and this cottage is expensive for its size in comparison to the cottages we rent in England and Wales at the same time of the season. It is a studio cottage rental but the best has been made out of the space available. The cottage is situated behind the owners house in the back garden and it is not really for anyone that has mobility problems. The chairs give little support and there is no couch due to space availability. On a positive note, the kitchen and bathroom facilities are good although the kitchen has limited work surface areas, but, plenty of utensils if you are cooking your own food. This is a very warm cottage if you venture out in the low season. Good television reception and the Wi Fi is fine This property would be good if you like to play Golf with Turnberry ten minutes away or if you like walking. Nearby historical sites are Culzean Castle and better still if you take photographs is Dunure Castle which is awesome. Then a fairly short drive to Alloway for the Robert Burns experience. There is a grocery store just a short distance away which has almost everything you could want including what I suspect to be the biggest selection of flavoured crisps in the UK, never knew the flavours existed. I like to fish for trout and there are quite a few waters available with just a short drive. All in all we enjoyed the visit, I would not return due to my personal health problems, I simply just need a bit more space and I would not rent a studio accommodation again knowing what I know now. But for all you healthy couples out there, this is a good rental and well worth a visit !!"

"Lovely place to stay, cottage very comfortable, everything you need provided and washer and dryer are a godsend. This is a large cottage, the bedroom is a great size and the bed is comfortable, no trouble sleeping; the living room is very comfortable and tv had enough stations to keep us happy at night; the kitchen is marvellous size (huge). There is a large bathroom upstairs with claw foot tub and separate shower, sink and wc, there is also a shower room next to the laundry room downstairs which is very handy. The garden is lovely and we kept the birds well fed with birdseed and bread, we even had a couple of squirrels coming each day. Nice to sit outside during the day with a citronella candle to stop the midges and watch the birds and the sound of the little river flowing over the stones and rocks it is so relaxing. On the negative side there isn't a phone in Forget Me Not, and, as there is no mobile phone signal unless you walk along to the stables, this could prove to be serious in an emergency situation. The kettle should have been replaced as it was past its best, also if you're prone to being bitten by midges, this location could be problematic, there are thousands of the little buggers. We were unable to open the door or windows because of them. Again, on the positive side the location is magical, and so quiet so if you want a place to relax and unwind this cottage is really perfect. There are so many lovely walks on Craigengillan Estate so, if you're a hiker or just like to take a stroll, you will really enjoy the beautiful scenery. Don't miss a visit up to Loch Doon, the coffee at the little roundhouse is great and if you're lucky and go right now you can watch the male and female Ospreys and their three chicks; just amazing to see."

"WOW. What can I say?The cottage has everything you could possibly want and more.... The lovely thoughtful gifts of wine and eggs on our arrival was a really lovely idea. (Much appreciated)The beds are so comfortable (we didn`t want to get up). The whole cottage is clean and just like home from home.We met the owners and what lovely people they are... Friends for life!Poor cockerel has gone to a new home (not the cooking pot) although the owners have chickens and ducks, which out daughter loved feeding. It`s just so quiet and peaceful, which is what we was looking for.We found lot`s to do, walking on the beach with our dogs, Whiskey Experience Shop, Tea-Room, Lifeboat Centre, Trump Turnberry Golf Course and much more.Taking photographs of the beautiful area and the animals.Yes I didn`t get mobile phone signal but that`s part of being rural and not the fault of the owners.... (that`s your own provider)There is Wi-Fi and Sky TV if you need it.... If your looking for a quiet, get away from it all holiday then this is perfect.... Overlooking the fields with sheep in, ducks and just beautiful hills. We can`t wait to go back..... Thanks guys for welcoming us into your beautiful cottage, we had a fantastic time...."

"We were really disappointed with our stay. It started off badly when the owner wouldn’t answer my calls or phone me back. He only communicated by text message. We were told the hot tub would be ready at 7pm on our arrival night (disappointing when check in was 3pm) but it was actually 9.30pm before it was warm enough to use. We contacted the owner to help with this but was told we just had to wait. On our second day the shower in the main bathroom leaked through the living room ceiling so we had pots and pans dotted about the room to collect the drips. Again, reported to the owner but no response. The lodge is definitely in need of TLC and was only half ready for our arrival. The glasses and cutlery were dirty, main bin wasn’t emptied and towels from the previous guests still in the dryer. Eventually we left early on the Sunday instead of staying till the Monday. Very disappointed as this is an annual trip with friends. Found out the lodge is up for sale so guessing the owner has lost interest in this."
