"A very nice cottage in an ideal location to see the beautiful welsh coast. Clean and tidy, with a lovely decked area at the front of the cottage with hot tub and bbq available, however I feel that the advertisement doesn’t stress how close the owners are living to the cottage, it doesn’t have the private feeling we were hoping for. We were greeted with what I felt was a very frosty reception, bev was very nice but was very quick to lay down the rules, such as clean the bbq after yourselves, numerous amount of hot tub rules, no glass, we were told to pick the pine needles out (hot tub under a pine tree) and my girlfriend was told to remove her make up. We had driven 5 hours with a dog and a 7 month old baby during the heatwave we are having. We probably weren’t ready for this onslaught. Dog owners please read the small print. You can not leave your dog in the cottage for even a moment. We took our dog out with us on the first day in the 28 degree heat where she struggled immensely, so we tried to leave her in the cottage on the second day only to be called to be told we are breaking the terms and conditions and to return to the property immediately. also many of the near by beaches are no dog zones, so therefore we had a dog that couldn’t stay in the cottage or go on the beach?? As the owners of the cottage are dog owners themselves I thought they would have some sympathy during the hot weather. One last thing, if the health and safety had one look at the high chair that was provided for the baby bev would be selling her hot tub to pay the fine. In a nutshell we wouldn’t return because we felt we couldn’t relax in the strict environment and I’d personally recommend this cottage to the elderly hill walking type"

"What a wonderfully impressive house, beautifully inside and out.Something for everyone, with large bedrooms, a great fully-equipped kitchen, separate large seating areas and games room. The property had plenty of towels and little other extras, such as toiletries which is an added bonus but not mentioned on the website. The owner was incredibly friendly and helpful, meeting our needs perfectly and I would use again in a heartbeat. The photos online do not do it justice as the rooms are much bigger than they look and the house even more outstanding in the flesh.A couple of small negatives that others should consider is that 2 bedrooms are joined and you have to go through another to use the bathroom making it difficult with 9 adults sharing the house who all wanted their privacy. Before arriving our party argued over the beautiful large bedroom with balcony but then decided against once they realised it was connected to another. We didn’t realise this when looking at the photos or see in the description unfortunately, which left my elderly mother using a child’s single bed downstairs instead of the intended double bed with ajoining bathroom. The busy main road, whilst quiet once windows and doors were shut was a disappointment and left nowhere to walk from the property with our dog or walk in general without having to drive instead. We took 3 cars to the property and found that our more nervous driver found turning right from the property or right into it very scary, especially when there was heavy daytime traffic on the dual carriageway.I would recommend to anyone who knew the small downsides and it’s a perfect holiday home, which we’d all like to own."

"Highly recommended so peaceful away from the hustle and bustle of every day life! We had a lovely stay! This lodge is set in absolutely stunning surroundings overlooking the private lake with lots of wildlife and carp! The hot tub was fantastic, the only issue (if there was 4 people) is it is a replacement tub that only seats 3 people not 4 as stated on the description, this was fine for us as there was only 2 of us! There is a washing machine at the lodge which is great but no way of drying clothes or towels other than a clothes airer, when it was raining this wasn’t ideal! Only one bath towel each and one hand towel to share was provided so make sure you take plenty of towels for the spa! There’s a walled BBQ for the use of disposable BBQ’s which is great (remember matches) The Lodge kitchen had everything we needed! The gallery bedroom was extremely warm but a very large fan is provided albeit a bit noisy! We were able to star gaze through the massive windows! We will hopefully revisit one day and my hubby will remember to take his fishing rods!"

"Bev and Ali were exceptionally kind and helpful during our stay at Anchor cottage .We were exhausted on arrival getting caught up in several accidents on the motorway, and our 4 hour journey took 9 hours in searing heat.Bev had a bottle of wine chilling and the hot tub switched on for us when we finally arrived and both were exceedingly welcome! The very hot weather meant that we tended to do short trips returning to the cottage to cool off during the hottest parts of the day.We and our dog found the many dog friendly beaches too hot for comfort for any length of time. The nearby towns of Laugharne and Llansteffan were beautiful and we visited both several times enjoying very good food in both Anchor cottage was very well equipped and spotlessly clean and we would definitely like to return to explore more of this beautiful areaThanks again Bev and Ali for making us feel so welcome"

"The location of the cottage was perfect. Very spacious cottage and gardens, 6 people stayed but we never felt cramped and like we were on top of each other. The kitchen was fantastic; well equipped and allowed us to cook each day with ease and no need to eat out. The outside was perfect with ample room for parking, and the children had plenty of space to play football, swing ball and with the toys provided by the owner of the cottage. The views were fantastic, looking out at the mountains and fields of cows. This cottage was the ideal getaway and although we went out every day you could quite easily stay in with the lovely views, games, DVDs and books left. We would thoroughly recommend this cottage to anybody wanting to stay near Swansea, and if we want to return to Wales this would be the cottage we would choose."
