"The cottage is well-presented, and well maintained. There were a few little niggles, only 7 cups for tea/coffee use (there were 8 of us) and just enough wine glasses, which meant you had to wash stuff immediately if you wanted to change what you were drinking. The TV was in the kitchen/dining area, and there weren't enough seats available when all of us wanted to watch a DVD one night. It was also quite cold upstairs, while warm enough downstairs. Ok for me, I like a cold bedroom, but many of my party were cold upstairs. Logs were provided for a fire, but no kindling to start the fire with, so we couldn't have a real fire until we'd been out to buy some. These are just small niggles, and didn't really spoil the stay. There was no wifi for the whole week, not the owner's fault, apparently the storms had taken the service down. However, there is absolutely no cellular data coverage, so connecting to the internet is impossible. This wouldn't be a problem, we all need to take a break from the internet every now and then, but one of our party had to do some important work while they were there and this required an internet connection. The owners were great, very responsive, particularly when the heating went down one evening, they were there within 5 minutes of us calling them.I gather this is a new rental property, and there needs to be a bit more attention to detail to make it a better experience, the handwritten welcome folder, for example, difficult to read the notes in places. The one thing that would stop us renting the cottage again, is the bathroom situation. There's only one shower, and that's on the ground floor, with access through the ground floor bedroom. With 8 people wanting showers, this was very inconvenient, and not good for the occupants of the bedroom everyone had to walk through. Meant they had to get up early or make 6 other people wait for a shower. It also meant a queue of 6 people for the upstairs loo in the mornings! We stayed over NY 2015/16 and we had torrential rain, every day, so there was no opportunity to explore the garden, it was basically a lake while we were there, but that's the British weather for you!"

"Myself,my wife,3 teens with 2 dogs Milo and Lily had a beautiful week at the Red Kite cottage in Cwmbach in July of 2017.On arrival we were greeted by the owners who were so welcoming and informative without being claustrophobic. We could not of had better hosts. The cottage was lovely with a more comfortable lounge than the pictures give it credit with a great TV ,DVD & freesat next to a beautiful kitchen and 2 bedrooms that were full of character. The beds were the comfiest I have ever slept on and the bathroom was so clean and well in keeping. We also appreciated the second toilet as with a large crowd there was never any inconvenience. There was a great games room attached where the pool table and dart board kept us interested on most nights as well as a cupboard full of board games and information at hand as to all the attractions in the surrounding areas. When we didn't take the kids to Oakwood park or visit some of the great west wales coastlines we would be walking our dogs up the woods shown in the pictures where my dogs met a lovely neighbour and her pug dog "Willy do".The woods and stream was my favourite. it was on the doorstep and so beautiful seeing my 2 dogs paddling in the private stream.Back in the cottage, the family never had a problem with the internet but the only snag was the mobile signal was not good in the house but that was something I was happy with as it gave me great peace. This was one of the best way holidays I could wish for.We really want to thank the owners as the cottage and the whole experience was professional and just what was needed at a price that was so much value for money.I will definitely be returning and if anyone is looking for a break away from life's hustles and bustles with maybe your dogs in a picturesque spot which is a great base for sight seeing west wales from then I implore you ....look no further. You will love it from start to finish. Thank you.Wayne & Family."

"The property is situated mid-way between Carmarthen to the north and Kidwelly to the south. The Morrisons supermarket at Carmarthen is very convenient for all catering needs. There is a lovely castle at Kidwelly, and south of Kidwelly is a holiday park with an excellent range of activities, including beach, cafe, cycle hire, horse riding, to name but a few. Access to places of interest to the west (in the direction of Tenby) is facilitated by good roads, so travelling farther afield is easy and increases the options.. Gellideg is a very interesting property, both in layout and historic content of interest (e.g. pictures, photos and memorabilia). It has excellent views to the rear and is pleasantly and quietly situated. It has a secluded veranda which faces south, with space to sit & relax. July 2009. "

"Lovely house with everything you need in it and more. As we had a very adventurous 2 year old Kay had supplied a stair gate which was very useful. Both children loved their Disney duvet covers which Kay had put on just for them. House is on 3 levels which is good as it doesn't feel like you are always on top of each other. We loved going to the beach which is just behind the house and enjoyed watching the boats in the harbour which is in front of the house and round the side. We had fantastic weather which helped as we spent most of our time on the beach or at Pembrey park- riding, going on the small train. If it had been raining I'm not sure where we would have gone. Burry Port is a very friendly place. We loved both house and location."

"We had a fabulously relaxing long weekend at Pen - Y - Bont - the cottage was beautifully appointed - lovely decorations and furnishings. The kitchen was a pleasure to cook in and was very well appointed with plenty of crockery, glasses etc ...with an amazing american style larder fridge/freezer and lovely large central worktop area. The bedrooms were very luxurious and had the most amazingly comfortable beds. The owners Sian and Charles were very helpful and friendly and left us a lovely welcome pack of freshly made welsh cakes, toffee waffles and even a jar of treats for our dogs. Would love to stay there again maybe in the summertime when we could then take advantage of the lovely garden. Would highly recommend this cottage."
