What our customers say about their holidays

    • Miss Povey - Verified booking

The cottage was lovely. The kitchen was cozy and had all the appliances we needed alongside a table that was plenty big enough for the 2 of us but you could comfortably fit 4 there. We did not use the utility room due to a leak they informed us about before we were there (being fixed!!) but it had a washing machine ironing board and hoover, etc. The living room was spacious with two comfy couches, a coffee table that we managed to fit our (massive) board games on, and a TV with freeview. They explained everything (local area, what to do with the bins and washing, etc) in a handbook which was a nice touch. Upstairs there was a small bedroom with a single bed, we did not use this as there was only the two of us but it would be fitting for a child, probably a bit small for an adult. Was a nice bedroom though with wardrobe space. The main bedroom was very comfortable and spacious, the bed itself was a perfect size. Wardrobe space was the same as the small bedroom so possibly could have been bigger but there was also a dresser so there was enough room for all our belongings on a 5 night visit. The bathroom was massive and gorgeous- the only fault would be the baths drain was not working properly. We managed to get it to work well enough for it to not bother us too much. The heating in the property was a small issue as the old gas fire (seemed unkept so we didn’t bother after a while) was difficult to work and the central heating turns itself off after an hour and a half (manually turn it back on every time). I do understand this is for health and safety and appreciate that but it is very cold, bring blankets and hoodies. Both bedrooms had lovely views of the mountains and town. Outside was lovely- it is a shame about the weather as we would have loved to sit out there! Beautiful views and the parking is fine for 1 small/medium size car (although pebbled and a pain to parallel/reverse park into). The location is stunning and the town is nice enough, couple takeaways and pubs, tesco express and a londis. Locals seemed lovely, alongside the owners. Overall beautiful experience thank you, we would love to come back!

The cottage was lovely, clean and comfortable and the owner was helpful putting things right as necessary.

What let the cottage down was the basics not being available. No hand wash in the kitchen, the tiniest amount of washing up liquid, not one dishwasher tablet, no fire starter pack, one solitary toilet roll, the smallest welcome pack we have ever experienced, 2 tea bags, 2 instant coffee sachets, pint milk - welsh cakes were appreciated though, no spare bin bags, resolved, no hot tub towels, resolved, no washing line or clothes maiden, resolved. We don't expect all inclusive and we bring provisions it did feel that the basics were skimped on. The lack of a visitors book was a real shame, as they can be so helpful with previous visitors recommendations. There is an information pack however it is out of date. We went to a market detailed in there to find is ceased trading a year ago and the farm shop has very little there not worth the drive. Some of the places recommended are a long way from the cottage. As previous visitors have mentioned, the bathroom can become smelly at times, the lack of net curtains in the bedroom creates a lack of privacy. The hot tub recommended temperature of 34 degrees creates a luke warm tub and is nowhere near hot enough. We have rented several properties with hot tubs and have never encountered this. It should be declared on the listing, I would not book a cottage that insisted on this. Again, this felt like a cost cutting exercise. Overall, an absolutely lovely property and the owner was helpful. We had a lovely time staying there, just needs a bit more attention to visitors' needs.

The cottage met and, indeed ,exceeded all our expectations. It is in an ideal location to get to the mountains and the seaside. Zip World and some lovely walks were available straight from the door. It had all the amenities we could possibly have wanted and we found it very comfortable and spacious for our needs (two of us). Even the Eryri weather was very good during our two week stay so we were very glad that we were able to enjoy the beautiful garden. We only had one day of relentless rain, and were more than happy to stay in the cottage, resting our aching legs after a particularly strenuous hike and watching TV and reading. As hikers, we particularly appreciated having the utility room with washer, dryer etc and the bathroom was fantastic with a great shower, bath and lots of space. We loved staying there and would definitely stay again.

Used sat nav postcode to find property which took us as far as Ruthin Sports club then told us we had arrived fortunately we contacted the owner and were able to find via her direction do not rely on Sat nav postcode enter address.

On arrival we found the property well furnished and spotless also a very nice welcome pack which consisted not only of essentials but also a few treats, the furnishing were comfortable and also ample selection of cooking utensils and choice of cooking methods or electric oven and hob,air fryer, microwave. The lounge was well furnished and comfortable and the bedrooms had ample storage and comfortable beds, the showeroom was clean and modern and the shower was excellent. We found the Coach house central for visiting the coast and also plenty of places to visit inland, the only drawback was lack of a footpath to the local village along a well used road. We enjoyed our stay at the Coach house and would happily return of we revisit the area. Thank you Terry and Chris.

Warm welcome from owner. Comfortable 4 poaster bed in main bedroom. Didnt need to use the twin room .The kitchen had full facilies as expected and everything was in good condition. Bathroom had large walk in waterful shower. Lounge diner comfortable and cosy. Good broadband , but tv difficult to navigate . Good off road parking on premises. Hot tub in nice private location . Good location for walking the coastal path. Local pub The Ship served local tasty food in a pleasant atmosphere all , staff very friendly . The Saturday night we were there there was a very entertaining band , great fun. We used Morrisons in Haverfordwest which was 35 mins by car. Thank you for a lovely holiday
