What our customers are saying about our Self Catering Holidays In Wakefield.
Mr Andrew Williams, Wigan, Greater Manchester - verified booking
"We have been to several cottages around England and Wales but Weavers Cottage is by far the best we have ever stayed at. Before we arrived I spoke to the owner, who tried to make sure that we had all the information that we needed. The directions to the cottage were spot on and to say we fell in love with the building is an understatement. The cottage is fitted out immaculately and the smallest things were thought of. Even down to enough supplies for a welcome brew ! Everything is of top specification and superbly presented. There is plenty to do in beautiful part of England and the cottage backs onto the Trans Pennine trail which opens up a multitude of walking and cycling possibilities. The games room is awesome and many a evening was spent in there playing pool and table-tennis. This was an amazing break that enhanced our son's 21st and am sure anyone who has the good fortune to stay there will return time and time again as will we."

""What is not to like about Emley Woodhouse?" It was my first time renting a house like this in the UK and we were pleasantly surprised. I wanted to pick somewhere quiet, and tranquil for my parents 40th wedding anniversary and it was both those things. The challenge when your traveling with a large group, 8 adults and 6 kids is to find a place where your not on top of each other. The house is very well spaced out with lots of different areas if you wanted some quiet time. The décor is modern and the artwork is something that just makes the property. All rooms are good and spacious. One of the wow factors of this property is the garden and the walks straight from it onto the fields. Kids loved the freedom! While we were there the weather was beautiful which just made our stay there such a memorable one. We had a lovely party for my parents 40th anniversary and we wont be forgetting this house in a hurry."

" Parking was free and close by. I would go back and recommend but my dad 80 years old really struggled on the stairs as they are very steep, with only a single rail and I had to lift the rug in the bedroom as it just slid across the floor when you put your foot down, the wooden floors seemed to be highly polished making them slippy to all. The property decor is pleasant but slightly out dated. I would expect TV’s in the bedrooms in most places now. Not related to property but did effect are experience. When we arrived there was a lady in the property and a plumber in the bathroom for the first 20 mins, so slightly arkward........ and the most annoying thing was being texted by Skyes at 6AM in the morning to tell us about a coat a previous tenant had left in the hall, way to go to spoil a holiday lie in..... Cheers "

" The cottage is small and cosy with all the amenities you could want - television, DVD player with a stack of DVDs, fridge, cooker with four hobs, oven and grill, microwave, comfortable double bed, nice bathroom with good shower and a great central heating system which kept the place warm and cosy. There were also a stack of games if you felt so inclined. Our host had left tea, coffee, milk, a bottle of wine and chocolates which were unexpected bonuses. The cottage is located in a great part of Yorkshire and we were able to go on a couple of country walks, including a visit to the Yorkshire Sculptor Park, which is less than 10 miles away. The cottage is within walking distance of a couple of pubs, one of which did excellent food. All in all, we had a great stay - just what we wanted. "

" Each of the two bedrooms had about 6 hangers that were all mismatched and had come free with clothing purchases or dry-cleaning. You can get sets of tubular plastic hangers very inexpensively at Home Bargains, Wilco, Poundland etc. Why make the place look cheap? There was opened food left by previous visitors in the cupboards that should have been thrown away and the kitchen cabinets, floor and dishes needed a good clean as they all seemed to have a greasy coating on them. Although there was a dryer provided it was in the cellar which was not inviting. A washer/dryer in the kitchen would have been nicer for guests as the cellar was both damp and dirty. Bathroom was really clean and there was a nice clean smell from the fresh linen on the beds. "
