    Vale of Glamorgan Holiday Cottages

The Vale of Glamorgan, or just The Vale by locals, is a southeastern Welsh county bordering Bridgend, Cardiff, Rhondda Cynon and Bristol. Holiday cottages in The Vale of Glamorgan offer visitors great variety: from the traditional seaside town of Barry Island to the medieval ruins of Cosmeston, and rural greenery on the historic Glamorgan Heritage Coast. Gavin and Stacey brought fame to Barry Island and you’ll find plenty of well-known locations to visit here.

Primarily rural, there’s plenty to do and see amongst the natural woodlands and rolling green fields. Wander around Cosmeston Lakes Country Park and Dyffryn Gardens to soak up the plush scenery, before heading on an educational trip to Ogmore Castle. Unwind in one of our family-friendly farmhouses at the end of your day, or opt for a romantic cottage for two. We also have dog-friendly accommodation if you’re travelling with your furry friend.

Book your Vale of Glamorgan stay with Snaptrip. From converted stables to cozy cottages, there's something to suit every taste, all protected by our best price guarantee. We have thousands of holiday homes throughout the UK, so you're sure to find your next destination — simply book online or call our friendly customer service team.

What our customers say about their holidays

    • Janet - Verified booking

We hadn’t thought about a holiday in this area of the U.

      K. and usually go camping at this time of year. Most places were reported to be very busy this year due to COVID 19 restrictions, so we booked this cottage. The cottage itself was very comfortable and clean and Lorraine, the owner was very welcoming and we were not disappointed. The cottage is ideal for couples. There is a shared courtyard and garden which has the sun all day and is very tranquil. We brought our bicycles and were able to park them undercover in the covered barn. We did not use the car at all during our stay and thoroughly explored the Vale of Glamorgan, the country single track lanes were very quiet and ideal for cycling. We visited Cowbridge and the Physic garden with medicinal plants from the 18th century, Llantwit Major and it’s dramatic beach. We travelled along the coastline to St Donat’s past Atlantic College where the likes of Charlie Chaplin and John F Kennedy stayed, visited Dunraven Castle, Ogmore by Sea (a peaceful spot when we visited, but made headlines due to a mass brawl post-Lockdown), Ogmore Castle, Ewenny Priory, Merthyr Mawr Warren, which is a beautiful natural area and climbed the Big Dipper (the second largest sandune in Europe), Porthkerry Country Park, Barry and Barry Island (the day before the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge). The closest beach is Monknash, a rocky beach with a footpath and a walk to get down to it, but it is well worth the effort. We also enjoyed watching the kart racing at Llandow Circuit nearby. Had we have been there longer, we would have perhaps visited Cardiff and Penarth. It was lovely to return to the cottage after a busy day sightseeing. The only downside for us was a slightly unstable internet connection and poor phone signal at times, but it didn’t spoil our enjoyment.

We stayed for 1 week over the may half term.

Cobweb corner is a cute little cottage full of character and charm! Tony who owns it lives in the larger adjoining cottage door with his lovely dog Otto. Tony was so friendly and accommodating and was so good (as was otto) with our daughter. He is full of local knowledge, places to visit, pubs to eat at etc. Our daughter loved the attic play room and having a quiet hide away space to chill out in. Beds were comfy and we slept so well after long days on the beach. Full digital TV package to catch up on programmes or chill out with a film night. Never ran out of hot water with us all showering every night to get rid of the sand. There's no oven but a clean and easy to use air fryer, electric touch hob and microwave was fine to cook a variety of meals! A shop next door (expensive) but very useful for grabbing essentials or a bottle of wine and only a 10 minute stroll to the local beach which is beautiful. If there's anything you need just ask Tony and he'll help or point you in the right direction! We have previously stayed at Trecco bay caravan site (round the corner) but much preferred Cob Webb corner for a more chilled out and relaxed holiday away from the hustle and bustle of it all!!

steve and sue was amazing hosts they made sure we had everything we needed and more, I have never experienced this level of hospitality from the moment we was on the train they were in contact to find out what time we would reach as they said we could enter the property before 4pm which was awesome as sometimes with other homes you would typically have to wait and by then you would be tired especially if you came from far on public transport, they also messaged us the night before to find out our dietary requirements in case we were veggies as they prepared a lovely hamper (the best one we've had so far),steve also gave us a lift into town which was appreciated as we didn't drive, when we arrived it felt like home to the moment we left (we really didn't want to leave) it was a truly relaxing place we was planning when we wanted to come back already hopefully in the next few months , we will definitely reccomend to friends and family,a lot of thought has gone into making the cwtch high spec, warm, squeaky clean, no bugs or spiders ,amazing refreshing shower its just pure perfection, a must see/stay, thanks to steve and sue x. Everything was quality: linens, furniture, internal doors. It made me feel calm, safe and relaxed there. Such good sleep! The size is just right for a couple. I did wonder from the photos if it might be pokey in places but it absolutely wasn’t. There are skylights all across the vaulted roof which flood the property with natural light. And of course they are fitted with remote blinds. Not only was the welcome pack very generous, nearly every consumable was provided! I’ve never seen such well stocked cupboards in any other self-catering facility - even other 5 star sites. If I had to be picky, I’d only give the shower 8/10 and the owners were having temporary issues maintaining the huge gardens. The owner was lovely, approachable and very responsive if we had any queries. It’s a good location for exploring that part of the world. There’s even a pub in walking distance serving food. It isn’t the most attractive pub in the world but the staff were attentive and it was a useful option to have.
