    Vale of Glamorgan Holiday Cottages

The Vale of Glamorgan, or just The Vale by locals, is a southeastern Welsh county bordering Bridgend, Cardiff, Rhondda Cynon and Bristol. Holiday cottages in The Vale of Glamorgan offer visitors great variety: from the traditional seaside town of Barry Island to the medieval ruins of Cosmeston, and rural greenery on the historic Glamorgan Heritage Coast. Gavin and Stacey brought fame to Barry Island and you’ll find plenty of well-known locations to visit here.

Primarily rural, there’s plenty to do and see amongst the natural woodlands and rolling green fields. Wander around Cosmeston Lakes Country Park and Dyffryn Gardens to soak up the plush scenery, before heading on an educational trip to Ogmore Castle. Unwind in one of our family-friendly farmhouses at the end of your day, or opt for a romantic cottage for two. We also have dog-friendly accommodation if you’re travelling with your furry friend.

Book your Vale of Glamorgan stay with Snaptrip. From converted stables to cozy cottages, there's something to suit every taste, all protected by our best price guarantee. We have thousands of holiday homes throughout the UK, so you're sure to find your next destination — simply book online or call our friendly customer service team.

What our customers say about their holidays

    • Sandeep Kaur - Verified booking

Not clearly signed where the cottage was so was driving around trying to find it.

Once arrived the owner never realised we had arrived. After owner saw us she gave us a guided tour. Once we where all in, the kids saw soo many spider webs and big spiders. Firstly we had to move them but everywhere we turned there was another spider and another web. Whether it be in the sealing corners or floor corners. Behind bedside tables ontop of wardrobes...everywhere. There where also woodlice inside the property. Ants outside the front entrance and all over the recycling bags. There was lots of dust ontop of the books with webs, on the bathroom heater and behind the sink taps. Had to ask for WiFi password. Having 4 young kids not doing as they where told. Trying to pack and sort house put to how it was, we got late by 30 minutes and the owner was not happy. What she said was 'did you forget the departure time was 10am' to which I replied 'no but having 4 kids it was difficult'. The house was empty all we had to do was put the bags in the car. Not once did she ask how our stay was? or say have a safe journey home or did you enjoy your stay? They could have started one end instead of being abit grumpy!

We are a family of 4 with two small children (4&2) and came to enjoy South Wales with some friends.

We had a wonderful time on holiday here. The cottage is lovely and had everything we needed, it is conveniently located with the nearby town of Llantwit Major offering practical amenities and plenty of woods, beaches and castles in the area to explore. The family that operate the cottage are on site and are all lovely and helpful, great with the kids and gave us some great recommendations of places to visit all thew while ensuring our stay was going well (even offering one of the paddocks for me to set up my telescope, unfortunate I never had a clear enough sky for it). Some things we did if you are after ideas, in no particular order: Ogmore Beach, Ogmore Castlem Porthcawl beach and arcades, Forrest Fawr, Southerndown Beach and Dunraven bay/castle. Some of the other stuff we wanted to do was closed due to Covid but there was more than enough to exhaust the kids on a daily basis. We look forward to returning to enjoy more of this wonderful slice of the country and we'd certainly stay here again when we do return. Thank you for a great stay!

A new build, upmarket, park home, where design has crushed the practicalities of living. An en-suite with shower over bath, but no shower curtain, water goes everywhere. A family shower room with a shower that does not have a full width door, so water splashes out onto the floor. Not a hook anywhere, impossible to hang a coat up when you come in, or to hang clothes up when you shower or go to bed. A two seat breakfast bar, in accomadation for four, and a sofa that faces the bi-fold doors looking out onto the patio, that makes watching TV a neck twisting excercise. A good base to explore the local area, with easy access to the M4, which if the wind is blowing from the South, you can hear constantly in the background.

      Great stay.

Very sunny property with big patio doors and beautiful views. Loved hearing and seeing all the birds and squirrels. Really warm and welcoming hosts. They left a bottle of drink and chocolate and thought of all those little touches that make your holiday homely. Very tastefully decorated. Open plan space and gorgeous farmhouse/ country kitchen with everything you could need. They even had a dishwasher there. Brilliant hosts, the underfloor heating was a real treat and the location was pretty countryside but very easy trips into Cardiff etc. Both bathrooms clean and warm and had some very cosy baths. Peaceful setting and you instantly feel relaxed and on holiday. We will be back again!

Steve and Sue are delightful and helpful owners, but remained sensitive to our need for privacy in spite of living just a few yards away from the cottage. The cottage itself is well-furnished, well-equipped and very comfortable. We appreciated the extremely generous hamper of goodies, and the extra touches were very much appreciated (crackers, Christmas tree, courtesy slippers and dressing gowns). A lot of care and thought has been put into not only the presentation of the cottage but the needs of the holiday visitors, and as a result we had a restful and very happy Christmas.
