About this property

We’re delighted to introduce this wonderful property as part of our portfolio. Enjoying an elevated position within a 10-minute walk of the seaside town of Harlech, Bodriw is a unique holiday home - secluded and peaceful yet still close to local sights, experiences and amenities. Given its secluded location and wonderful views, Bodriw is accessible via a short, rough bridle path. This cottage is full of character with sweeping sea and mountain views, including Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon), Wales’s highest mountain, and the beautiful Llŷn peninsula. Bodriw is a traditional, stone-built detached dwelling, perfect for a large family or good friends to spend time together exploring the coast, mountains and countryside of this stunning National Park area. There is a large, peaceful, natural garden for nature lovers which is perfect for dogs and children to explore. Adults will love it too!

After a day of exploring, you can look forward to unwinding in this home from home, taking in the stunning scenic views from the sitting room, watching TV or listening to music, playing games brought from home, or relaxing with a drink on the raised patio outside watching the sun go down. If you feel the need for a quieter indoor space to read or contemplate your day, you can curl up in an armchair in the snug.

The large kitchen is well-equipped for catering for full family meals and has a dishwasher to help you clear up afterwards. You’ll also find the washing machine and breakfast table in the kitchen, whilst everyone can enjoy a meal together in the more formal dining room, again with beautiful scenic views.

As the evening closes in enjoy the silence within one of the cosy, colourful bedrooms in the cottage, comprising of a double bedroom, a 4ft double bedroom (with ensuite), a twin bedroom and a single bedroom, each with storage space.

If you can tear yourself away from this superb property, stroll up the bridle path and down the steep hill with views to the sea to the village. Here you’ll find several small shops and cafes for essentials.

In the village itself you’ll find the imposing 13th century Harlech Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage site. There are also miles of unspoilt beaches here where you can spend endless hours, as well as a swimming pool and climbing wall at the small leisure centre. And for golf lovers, the renowned Royal St David’s course nestles in the sand dunes of Harlech.

From Harlech you can travel north to Porthmadog where you can join the Ffestiniog railway and find a wider range of shops and supermarkets. Locally and further afield within the Snowdonia National Park area you’ll find a range of mountain summits and trails to explore, sure to make your holiday memorable if you enjoy walking and hiking. You could also visit the large slate mines at Blaenau Ffestiniog if the weather is not so good. Outdoor activities such as Zip World and Bounce Below are also accessible within a reasonable drive from Harlech. The Italianate village of Portmeirion, situated close to Porthmadog, overlooks the picturesque Dwyryd estuary. This wonderful village enjoys sub-tropical gardens and has restaurants, cafes and shops, as well as a spa.

If you travel south from Harlech to the next village you will find the Llechwedd Slate Caverns in Llanfair, and if you travel on to Barmouth, there’s a lively seafront, long beach and a variety of shops and restaurants. Harlech and the surrounding area is a stunning location to create wonderful memories, and Bodriw is the ideal base.

Harlech is a seaside resort in North Wales, located 11 miles away from Barmouth. Within the town, you will find a 13th century castle, built by Edward I and has World Heritage status which overlooks the selection of eateries and shops. The town is also famous for its Royal St. Davids course and the sandy beach promises fun-filled days for families. The Snowdonia National Park is close by, home to good hiking and a range of outdoor activities.

The varied seating in the gardens allows for outdoor dining and also a quiet spot for reading. We all enjoyed our lovely week at this comfy, cosy cottage. There are many walks in this beautiful area and Harlech Castle is easily accessible. The owner was very friendly and helpful. We hope to stay again soon.

Harlech is set among very steep hills so you do need a certain amount of stamina to walk anywhere. We walked to the beach a few times and there is also a walk from the cottage up into nearby woodland with lovely views of the castle if you make it the top. It’s a beautiful part of Wales and we will certainly visit again.

Plenty of room outside for children to play around. There were 7 in our party and enough space inside for everyone. Plenty of things to do and see around the area, but be warned about the directions getting there from the centre of Harlech as the terrain is very challenging for some people but once you arrive your rewarded with wonderful cottage and lovely views.
