Guests say

Guests consistently praise Y Bwthyn for its stunning views, peaceful and remote setting, and warm hospitality from the hosts. The cottage is well-equipped and comfortable, providing a perfect base for exploring Snowdonia. The addition of a hot tub is a highlight, offering relaxation amidst the beautiful Welsh countryside. The property's cleanliness and thoughtful touches, such as homemade cakes and fresh eggs, contribute to an exceptional holiday experience.

The cottage receives high marks for cleanliness, with multiple reviews mentioning it being very clean and well-maintained. An extra deep clean due to COVID-19 was also noted, indicating attention to detail and care for guests' well-being.

The location is highly praised for its stunning views and peacefulness, making it an ideal retreat. It serves as a great base for local hikes and exploring North Wales. However, some guests noted the narrow access road as a minor concern.

Guests find the cottage very comfortable, with a well-appointed and equipped space that feels like an escape from the outside world. The presence of a hot tub adds to the comfort level, although one review mentioned a lack of a blind on a skylight as a minor issue.

The cottage is well-stocked with necessary facilities and the hot tub is a popular feature. However, there is a suggestion for a cover over the hot tub for privacy and protection from the elements, which indicates room for improvement in facilities and maintenance.

The hosts' thoughtfulness is evident through the provision of tasty treats and fresh farm eggs, as well as a homemade sponge cake. While these gestures are greatly appreciated by guests, it is politely noted that such gifts, while delightful, are not guaranteed with every stay.

We appreciated the ability to wander (& bike!) in the fields. It felt isolated up in the hills but only a few miles to town was the best of both. Will absolutely return…

Great location for exploring around Snowdonia, although the farm was difficult to find at first (I think better instructions are needed for locating the farm when coming from the South). Owner was super friendly and even left a birthday cake - which was such a nice touch. Great communication with the owner throughout and I cannot speak highly enough about the Hot-Tub - this was such a welcomed pleasure after hiking the mountains. The cottage itself is really well setup, loads of space and very comfortable to stay in. Some of the doors can be a little noisy to close due them scrapping on the floor, but it adds to the character of the place. Would highly recommend this cottage - lovely stay, excellent owners and we would definitely look to stay there again if and when we return to Snowdonia.
