You’ll find Rose Cottage right in the centre of the tourist hotspot of Betws-y-Coed. A former railwayman’s cottage, it has been extended and offers light, airy and spacious semi-detached accommodation for six guests and has two bathrooms. There is private parking for two cars next to the cottage, but you can leave the car and hop on a bus or train as the railway station is practically next door. To keep the chilldren of all ages entertained there is a Garlando Evolution Football table and air hockey table.
There are numerous places to eat in the village, more outdoor shops than you can shake a stick at, and many walks from the door - either along the riverbank, round the nearby golf course, or through leafy glades in the Gwydyr Forest Park. You will find yourself within walking distance of Zip World Fforest too, where adrenaline junkies will love trying out the Power Fan or Fforest Coaster, whilst the whole family will enjoy the treetop nets. The garden is across a path leading to the other railway cottages, but is spacious with plenty of room to enjoy a glass or two of wine or dine al fresco as you look out over the valley, and see the miniature trains at the Conwy Valley Railway Museum.
In the evening you can walk to a nearby hotel or restaurant for a delicious meal, perhaps catch a male voice choir performing in the village church during the summer months, or relax and plan your next day. Betws-y-Coed is the ‘Gateway to the Snowdonia National Park’, and there is much to explore. Take the scenic route to Llanberis via Capel Curig, or climb (or take the rack and pinion railway) up Mount Snowdon. At 3,560ft, it is the highest mountain in Wales! You can also explore the National Slate Museum, wander round pretty Beddgelert, or hop on the Conwy Valley line train to either the Victorian seaside resort of Llandudno, or go the other way up into the hills at Blaenau Ffestiniog, where you’ll find the largest zip wire zone in the world. Families can also enjoy Bounce Below, where you can bounce on nets deep in an old slate cavern, or take a leisurely trip on a steam train on the Ffestiniog Railway. Beach 20 miles. Shop and restaurant 50 yards, pub 100 yards.
Please note: There are open, steep, spiral or narrow stairs at the property.
Free WiFi
The garden is detached from the house and is accessed across a footpath from the back door.
Please note that the Conwy Valley railway line passes the end of the garden – there are six trains each way Monday-Saturday, and a very limited summer Sunday service.
There are open, steep, spiral or narrow stairs at the property.

A fabulous cottage in a great location. Especially good for teenagers, having a separate games room. Lots of options for lunch & dinner within easy walking distance. Quieter than expected, despite being located so close to the town and railway.

What a beautiful cottage.Home from home. Very clean and comfortable. We loved the position and will definitely return. Lovely welcome cake and milk. We did not try the games room as there is so much to do. Buses are outside and run frequently,Plenty to do and see. Thank youTracey

We have been returning to this fabulous cottage for the last 5 years and fully intend to continue returning. The location is excellent, and even though the railway line is behind the cottage we can't say we have ever really noticed the trains coming and going. We particularly like the fact that the cottage is not pet friendly as my husband is allergic to dogs and we hope that it stays this way. We have also stayed in several other cottages in the area in the last couple of years and I can honestly say that none of them have come up to the standard of Rose Cottage. There is everything that you could possibly need provided, including a hairdryer in every bedroom! When I recently found that one of the kitchen knives was blunt, I even found a knife sharpener in the kitchen drawer! Little things, but they do make a difference. Also love the fact that the cottage has its own private parking right next to it. The garden is beautifully maintained and perfect for sitting out in when the weather is good. We also enjoyed the foosball table in the games room. As regards the area, the cottage is literally a couple of minutes walk from several cafes, shops and takeaways. You are only a further five minutes walk from the centre of Betws-y-Coed with its numerous shops and several pubs and restaurants. The area is also a walker's paradise. If you fancy exploring further afield, you are only about 40 mins from LLandudno, 30 mins from Beddgelert, 35 mins from Llanberis, 35 mins from Conwy and less than an hour from Anglesey (we recommend visiting Beaumaris, LLandwyn Island and Newborough National Nature Reserve, Trearddur Bay and Plas Newydd House on Anglesey). You honestly couldn't ask for a better location.Thank you Pauline and Mike for another perfect stay.
