A small Welsh market town, Rhayader has a variety of cafes, bars, restaurants, shops, and other services, including local antiques. A huge swimming pool and a weekly cattle market at the recreation centre are further benefits. On the outskirts of the town, the Red Kite Feeding Station is a fantastic site that should not be missed. The magnificent Elan and Claerwen Valley dams and reservoirs are located in Rhayader, which is the first town on the River Wye. The Elan Valley has many different walking and cycling paths (you can rent bicycles in Rhayader), as well as a visitor centre with a café and a playground for kids. With its astounding array of public nature reserves, this region is referred to as the Wildlife Centre of Wales. Pony trekking is another activity offered nearby. Visit Builth Wells, the site of the yearly Spring Festival, Royal Welsh Agricultural Show, and Winter Fair. Alternatively, a 34-mile picturesque journey will get you to the Welsh coast.

Very cozy, loved the hot tub! Great location for walking, we went to the Elan Valley on one day (about 15 minutes drive), and Pen Y Fan (about 50 minutes). The Tin Shed is set on a farm, itâs nice and quiet, private. The interior is very nicely decorated, the underfloor heating is lovely, everything you need for a kitchen, a cozy bed, sofa, and a smart tv! The outdoor is fully enclosed for the dogs, itâs not visible in the photos, but the fence does have wire mesh also, so they cannot get in between the slats. Took us a little while to find it as the map location on Sykes cottages website was wrong. Would definitely recommend, and would definitely stay here again. The only minor inconvenience was the WiFi wasnât working when we visited, but luckily there was phone signal so we were able to hotspot the tv from our phones. The outdoor bath tap has also burst (presumably from freezing), however we just used the hot tub which was great

The nicest lodge we have every stayed in. The cleanliness is incomparable to anywhere we have ever stayed before and had absolutely everything we needed. The hamper on arrival with marshmallows and treats was such a nice, thoughtful touch. This place definitely made mine and my boyfriends New Yearâs Eve the best weâve ever had, especially going into the new year in the hot tub stargazing! Absolutely incredibly place, that felt like home away from home. I will definitely be recommending this place to friends/family and we will certainly be back! Thank you!

The property is stunning - amazing views, extremely clean, perfectly furnished and well equipped. The isolation from the outside world is exactly what we needed - there was nobody around the entire time we were there. The surrounding area is ideal for people with dogs are there are so many stunning walks just down the road. The little touches such as the welcome hamper full of supplies, the dog treats, the dressing gown and smart TV really made the visit even better. The hot tub is fantastic for relaxing in after a long day walking - we were even treated to a meteor shower. We will absolutely recommend to all our friends and family!
