Hillside View offers a peaceful location with stunning views and private gardens, ideal for families and pet-friendly. Guests appreciate the warm lodges, hot tubs, and friendly staff. While some find the lodges well-equipped and clean, others note the need for maintenance and updates, particularly with mattresses and Wi-Fi connectivity.
Most guests found the lodges clean and tidy upon arrival, with only a few mentioning cleanliness issues with hot tub water and floors. The property seems well-kept, though some maintenance issues are noted.
The location is praised for its tranquility, beautiful views, and proximity to local amenities in Rhayader. The peaceful and dog-friendly environment is a highlight, although some views are obstructed by hedges.
Guests enjoy the cozy atmosphere but report mixed experiences with comfort due to dated and uncomfortable mattresses. The lodges are spacious, but the lack of attention to comfort details has been noted.
Facilities like hot tubs and kitchen equipment are appreciated, but several reviews mention maintenance issues such as broken hot tub lids, problematic curtains, and uneven roads. Wi-Fi connectivity is also a common concern.
There is insufficient information regarding thoughtful touches like gifts or special amenities provided by the property, so a score cannot be given. No reviews mention gifts, so their presence or absence cannot be confirmed.

Things can go wrong at anytime, but Hannah at Oakwood Lodges was really helpful with sorting the issues out. The lodge was really nice and is in a really nice hillside plot, and the garden was really private.

However the lodge was lovely; great size for me, husband, 3 teens and 2 small dogs. Yes, I agree with previous reviews - the double bed mattress needs an upgrade, itâs extremely basic and not very comfortable. We loved the hot tub being under cover. It was set at 37 degrees and ready when we arrived. Loved how peaceful it was, hardly saw a soul when weâd walk the dogs. Gorgeous view. Big bathroom. Very clean and tidy on arrival and appreciated the info pack regarding recycling and things to do in the local area.

The view was lovely, all the things you could need, oven, kettle, hot tub! Downsides, im a big bloke and the mattress wasnt the nicest. We was having a relaxing day in but maintenance work next to our lodge ruined that. I understand jobs need to be done but look at your bookings, try and plan when people arent on a relaxing break. Sound of a petrol strimmer for 4 hours isnt really 'chill'. The road to the lodges needs a little tlc, bit bouncy. The negatives been said how ever, we would probably return, id just sleep in the hot tub.
