Green Cottage in Mid Wales & Cardigan Bay is a well-received holiday rental with guests praising its cleanliness, warm and cosy atmosphere, and secure garden ideal for dogs. The surrounding scenery is appreciated for its tranquillity and beauty, with the Elan Valley being a nearby highlight. The local pub's proximity is noted, although its current status is unclear. Some guests suggested improvements for comfort and facilities, but overall experiences were positive, with many expressing a desire to return.
The majority of guests have reported the cottage to be spotless and very clean, indicating high standards of cleanliness. There was a single mention of dog hair on a stair carpet, but this seems to be an isolated incident not corroborated by other reviews.
The location is generally praised for its quietness, scenic views, and proximity to walking areas and local attractions like the Elan Valley. However, some guests noted the lack of mobile signal and immediate footpaths, which slightly impacted the convenience of the location.
Guests found the cottage cosy and the beds comfortable, with a warm welcome and a log burner adding to the comfort. However, there were several mentions of uncomfortable sofas and a suggestion for rugs to add warmth, indicating room for improvement in this area.
Facilities were generally found to be good, with a well-equipped kitchen and secure garden. However, there were comments about the need for updates and additions such as a hoover, better bathroom facilities, and more comfortable furniture. Some maintenance issues were also mentioned.
While some guests mentioned a welcome bottle of wine, there is insufficient information to determine if thoughtful touches are a consistent feature of the property. Therefore, it cannot be guaranteed that such gifts are provided to all guests.

The cottage was clean and tidy and warm. The log burner was lovely and we found all sofas and beds comfortable. It provided a great base for exploring the Elan Valley and surrounding areas, we would book again. Garden was totally secure for our dogs and we even managed to capture the northern lights from the garden. Thanks for a great stay.

The kitchen is very well equipped. The view is glorious even when the mist is low. The single glazed window in the bathroom and inadequate shower are the only things that prevent it from being pure luxury, I would happily recommend and stay again though

I found the cottage to be clean, warm, and comfortable. I noticed there is a new sofa this time around which is much better than the last one! Wifi is fast and reliable, good enough to do some work if needed. The garden is secure and a decent size - my little dog appreciated it! Whilst it's clearly not a 'luxury' listing in terms of the furniture, decor and facilites provided (which you can see from the pics on the website), that all felt reflected in the price I paid and overall it felt really good value to me. It's the perfect location for exploring Mid Wales and I enjoyed some cracking walks this time in Gilfach nature reserve, the 'Water break its neck' waterfall area, and Elan Valley. The nearby towns of Rhyader and Llanidloes are both really nice and have a few cafes, shops and pubs. Would love to stay again.
