About this property

Hidden deep within the countryside of the Welsh village of Llangurig, you will find Brook Cottage. Adorned with many characterful features whilst exuding warmth and charm, this homely abode offers a picture-perfect setting for a romantic retreat for two, or a small family of three. Leave your luggage by the door as you enter into this attractive abode, discovering a handy cloakroom and utility cupboard where you can rinse off your mud-splattered clothes with the help of the handy washing machine. From here an attractive kitchen/diner awaits you, with traditional oak cabinets that house an abundance of appliances and a pretty breakfast bar where you can delight in a delicious bottle of bubbly, before taking a seat at the spacious wood dining table for a fabulous feast as you keep nice and toasty from the heat of the striking woodburning stove. Retire for the evening to the restful sitting room, where two sumptuous sofas have been wonderfully arranged in front of the electric fire, a truly tranquil space to relax and unwind after an eventful day exploring your surroundings. Venture up the staircase to the first floor and be greeted by a gorgeous double bedroom decorated with darling pink hues and crisp white bedding, as well as a lovely single and a light and airy family bathroom where you can delight in a refreshing shower or a long afternoon soak in the tub. Make the most of balmy weather with dinner and drinks out on the patio, embracing your fantastic countryside setting as the sun begins to set on another marvellous day. See the very best that Wales has to offer with time spent exploring all the finest local landmarks and attractions. Explore the imposing remains of Bryntail Lead Mine Buildings and wander the luscious terrains of Gilfach Nature Reserve, before spotting the breath-taking Devil's Bridge Falls on an unforgettable hike to The Arch. Enjoy a fun-filled day out at the Silver Mountain Experience, or stop by the Lisburne Metal Mine Waterwheel, both just a pleasant drive away. Fans of wildlife should be sure to check out The Magic of Life Butterfly House, whilst avid historians will relish in a trip to Aberystwyth with the ancient fortress of Pen Dinas Hill Fort and Aberystwyth Castle Grounds waiting to be explored. Bask in the sunshine on the pebbled shores of South Beach, before dusting off your sandy feet and pulling on your walking boots for an awe-inspiring hike along the coast or taking in the impressive scenery from your bikes as you cycle along the National Cycle Route 81. Enjoy an animal encounter like never before at the Valley View Falconry, or cross the border to England to delight in one of the many spectacular walking trails that line the Shropshire Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Spend quality time with your loved ones on an escape to Brook Cottage.

Llangruig is a pretty welsh village resting on the banks of the beautiful River Wye. Complemented by a charming Post Office with a well-stocked store, and two friendly pubs serving up delicious ales, visitors will find all their self-catering needs covered. Rhayader and Newtown are just a stone's throw away, whilst Aberystwyth sits slightly further afield offering a superb day out to the coast.

    Had a nice relaxing break.

The one issue that we had was how busy the main road was - it is difficult to use the off road parking safely given the bend in the road makes it difficult to see the speeding vehicles coming from the right (they are also very noisy in the middle of the night). Would though book again
